Dme = Ecu?

I am kinda confused between the DME(Digital Motor Electronics) & the ECU. Are these two the same unit?

dme, ecu, ecm they are all the same thing.

Power control Module PCM
Digital motor electronics DME
Electronic control module ECM


All the same thing. The computer that controls the car.

Gm cars basicly have 1 even autos

But most foriegn cars have a seperate computer to control the tranny
and even seperate computers to control other things besides engine/tranny


Seems like a silly question,but theres plenty to be learned about it.
