ok I found a 97 m3 for 7g the car has 80,000miles on the motor....the car used to be a 1994 325i the guy that is selling it got frauded and just wants to sell it for what it is....and move on....I should be able to regester it as a 97.....unless I want to get the old title back and save money on insurance.....im not sure how much troubble that is.......and if I even want to do that......but it can be done......
do you think this car is worth it???? it looks and drives like new...

Why would you want to register it as a 97? Its a 94 325i, so go by that pricing, seems high depending on whats done to it.

its a full convert......vader seats... m3 motor....m3 bodykit.....clean black paint.. has 19in rims...from the drive and pushing on the car the springs are not stock....has new falken tires.
BAD- ebrake dont work
-blinkers dont work
-its a swaped title
thats it......
also is ur m3 a 5speed??? its hard to find a real m3 that is 4door and a 5speed.
also it being a 94 325i saves money on insurence...but im not sure how much work it is to get the title back.

i don't know if there is such a thing as a swapped title...they way you describe it, it doesn't sound like something is right here. make sure you check with your DMV/MVS with the specifics on this car. and there are plenty of M3/4/5's here on the east coast...so i don't know what all the "rarity" is all about as 4 or more are always for sale.
i absolutely intend to hijack the thread when i say, "hey downeaster1, did you hit 600K yet?"

I know thats why im asking......but the guy seems to be telling the truth....idk why he would tell me its a 94 325i if its got the full vin swap of a 97 m3.....im just wanting to know how hard and costly it will be to get the title from the 94 back....

not yet, i havent driven the car more than five miles within the past 6 months due to "winter storage" (aka loosing my license).
I'm supposibily getting it back on the 29th...so I predicting mid march into april will be the ticket, and i know thats going to be the one day that I don't have my camera with me :mad

i absolutely intend to hijack the thread when i say, "hey downeaster1, did you hit 600K yet?" well its got the title and vins(in most spots) of a 97 m3 but the car was a 94 325i so I would have to go through the dmv to get that fixed......the guy got riped off and wants to sell it.....buy me saying the title got swaped I mean the guy used vins and every thing from a diffrent car.....so he could make more money off it......but there is not a title for what the actual car is? so I would have to get that after I bought the car....

Forgive me..Do you know what you are talking about?
A real M3 motor? What is the 1994 325 worth with NO motor?
Take "that" price and add a few grand for the "real M3 motor".....
If I had an 84 Fiero and I put in a 2005 Lamborghini motor, is the Fiero worth what the Lamborghini is worth because it has the motor?
I wouldn't walk..I would run... from this shady titled car....Let it be someone elses problem.....

^Yeah...good point. If you do end up buying it, make sure its a legit S52 and not just an M52 with an MPower engine cover.

it'll probably be a rebuilt title...maybe salvage??? either way you go with the VINs...M3 or 325i you are gonna get some strange looks from the people behind the counter...expect to wait in lines for 3 hours due to being ping-ponged around the DMV. heck, maybe this can be a franken-title.
i still intend to hijack this thread when i say, "hey downeaster1, that sucks that you lost your license, once you hit 1,000,000 miles, sell it as an original, rare, under 100 mile example with mismatching VINs and a 325i franken-title...check that, 328i franken-title"

The e36 325i has a slightly narrower and taller body. The real e36 m3 is lower and wider. This is not a suspension issue, the frames differ by an inch or two in both dimensions. Unless he swapped the chassis... heh
