Looking for rebuilt or low mileage that has been thoroughly inspected and found to be in good condition.
I've already purchased 2 3.2's from salvages. The first had extensive water (H20) damage (don't leave an engine with a busted intake manifold and valve cover out in the rain) and the second had a coolant leak I didn't want to deal with. Both were around the 30k mile range.
At the moment I may be in on a deal for a $5000 + 2.0L core (already have) for a BMW remanufactured 3.2 Looking for a similar deal (hopefully cheaper, or maybe rebuilt by someone else that is reputable but maybe a tad cheaper).
On another note, the old engine is in a state of limbo. If the price is right, I'd be willing to sell it as is. It has some cold-tap that I feel is MOST LIKELY lifters. Ran strong and smooth when warm while it was still in the car (now sitting without an engine). It has the first stage retainers (not hardened). If no one is interested in it as something to build up, we'll prob rebuild it and maybe tune a little then sell.
