im looking at these 2 companys for ecu upgrade for my 1997 528IA
what do you think is best ?
AutoThority - ECU Upgrade (Automatic)
they claim(provides your car with a 15 horsepower gain at the wheels and lots of improved torque and throttle response to go along with it. The low-end torque and throttle response are improved and the drivability is smooth throughout the entire power band. The performance can be felt right away as your car will speed up through the revs
...)
or
Shark Injector
total RWHp gain ?

If Autothority provides claims that they can back up have them prove it by providing you extremely cheap runs on their dyno with before and after.

I've dyno'd 528 5 speeds and they get 14hp x-tra @ the wheels with the AuotT ecu. You have to send in your DME to them and it is a 3 day turn around. It costs more than the Shark injector and the Shark you get to keep it and do it the same day you receive it.
I would go for a Shark unit, convenience, good power and not to be offensive but you got an Auto, so convenience & price would be my option.

dont worrie im not offened ..yea i have an auto but like stated before only because this is my daily driven car to drive in and out oF NYC
i think ill get the shark unit seems like the best bang for the buck.
iI just want a little more punch out of it
so ill also be making my own cold air intake soon for the car and IM still not sure what exahust to get for this car i dont want anything loud just something that is fairly quite and gives me a little more power and weighs a little less than stock

You would be a masochist to have a manual tranny E39 daily driver in NYC.
The shark is easy, the exhaust is not. Remove the resonator and install 2.5" piping to the stock muffler or a SuperSprint which will give you a nice deep tone, lighten things up and give you added throtle response.

Bill-
Yeah-you would have to schedule it or I could for you. You can do a before and after dyno of your car. The list price for s/w is $495 from AutoT. I'd help you on that price if you were interested in doing this.
