RG-R IMO.
They're not as flashy as LMs, but still look classy while costing and weighing less.

+1, LM's are too heavy.
Love the look of the LMs, but hard to justify the extra weight that comes with it. Both are sweet wheels imo.

I like the design of the LM's better...it looks so much nicer w/ the rivet's. Plus the RGR spokes are too wide..LM's got the perfect touch!!

I vote RGR-s, but I'm biased because I'm trying to sell mine. Mint as you can get. Mounted on the car for 700miles and then I sold my M. They won't mount up on my next ride so I need to get them out of my room......I had mine mounted on my hellrot coupe. Here is a pic to give you the general idea. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2019062790091681975UYXPmf

Yea,
LM's are 18x8 and RGR's are 18x8.5. Bigger rim and less weight. Part of the reason I went with the RGR's. Never really understood the big to do with LM's. Especailly the e46 crowd. But, to each his own. I'm sure there would be just as many people saying they dont understand why I picked RGR's

This might help explain it......courtesy of Stuttgart951. Not that RGRs don't look amazing as well.

LMs... hands down. Who cares if they weigh more. If you care about wheel weight on the street you are out yo mind.
Buy a set of wheels for the track.

buying heavy rims is like meeting someone online. when you actually meet them and you think your going to get laid, you see her and shes fat... :(

There is always someone with something bad to say.
21 pounds is heavier than 18.6 but it's also lighter than the 23 pounds of the stock wheels so I'm still lighter than you if you're running stock.

I used to have LM's. When I shipped them the rear 18x9's were 56 lbs with worn out tires still on them. I wouldnt be suprised if they approached 60 lbs each with new tires on them. The fronts were a little more reasonable, but they were only 17x7.5's. Then I switched to the wheels I have now, and they tip the scales at a little over 40 with tires mounted.
They are heavier than you think.

I have some in the mail right now and UPS has the weight at 45 pounds per box with tires. I'm certain they are no heavier than stock and I am not building a race car.
I think there are a lot of people on this forum who believe they are race car drivers and believe they drive race cars to work everyday. Even you guys can't deny that. I have had 2 cars that were single duty track cars (e30 325is and E30 M3). On those cars I was concerned with wheel weight down to the pound. Both ran Kosei's. People need to be more honest with themselves about how much they actually make it to the track and how much other useless crap is stuffed into their cars (i.e. stereo equipment, heated seats).
I have been going to the track regularly for a few years and when I got there, the weight of my wheels is not what is slowing me down...Its the fact that I'm not Schumacher.

True. I run heavy 18's that I think look nice on my DD M3, and I run the lightest non-magnesium wheels I can find for my NSX that I use as a track car. But when considering the difference between 2 similar wheels, you can't tell me that weight won't be a significant factor in the decision... (sorry for the double negative, but I think it makes sense)

I totally agree with you, but in this case the cost of a used set of LM's compared to a set of new RGR's was the most significant factor.
I would love to say I could tell the difference between 18.6 lbs and 21lbs on the street and occasionally on the track but I honestly don't think I would be able too. With a gap that small, tire weight may be the significant factor. 235/40's range from 21 to 26 pounds.

I take it you run 15s on your NSX?

Apples to oranges.
How so? The rear wheels were ~24 lbs each for an 18x9, its not like they are different for other cars.
I take it you run 15s on your NSX?
Won't clear the brakes nor are good R-comp sizes available for 15's. I'd be happy running 13's if I had carbon/carbon brakes and could get wide enough tires.

LMs for sure...I'd have them on my car in a second if i had a 5x130 pattern. but this is comparing an amazing wheel to a perfect wheel. BBS LM, RGR, CK, RS....alll AMAZING wheels!
