I am just about to get paid out on my 98 M3...wrecked at a track day in the fall....I will have enough money to go several routes:redspot:redspot

1)Buy another E36 M buy back my car at auction and transfer all useable mods including AA twin screw SC. Suspension bits and pieces etc. I would be selling leftover bits including a full motor and drive train plus interior stuff.
2) Buy another heavily modded BMW
3) Buy a z06
4)Buy a Boxster S
5)Buy an E46

Any thoughts

Get another M3 , you have a lot of expensive parts for it . Otherwise get the Z06, but these are very different costs . 10k vs 35K

By another E36 M3 in stock condition and leave it that way. Take what you save over the other choices and find an E30, E36 or similar to use as a dedicated track car.

no matter what, buy back your car and strip the parts for resale. or dump it in a stripped out e30 :)

buy the zr1:)

My thoughts exactly, but then again if that were an option I'd first ask what insurance company you had :devillook

The thrust of suggestions matches my own feelings...the settlement is good but not ZR1 good...I really loved my car and the setup....even though a wet track and SC torque exceeded my skill level.
A dedicated track car would be nice but my wife has other ways for me to spend money!!

Z06. best bang for your buck anywhere, anyday and anytime. Z06 keeps up with ferrarris and lambos more then four times the price.

you can get a C5 Z06 with around 40-50k miles for under 30 grand. I've seen as low as 25k for a 60k mile Z06.

if you have the option .... ZO6 > M3

oh and not to mention, it's a reliable 400HP.

when you have 400 hp from an M3 or an E30, it's going to break on you. and its going to break OFTEN. these cars are not designed for 400hp, the ZO6 is. that FAT 6.0 liter engine will never break on you.

Z06....best bang for your buck....plus with its autopilot-like-traction control/cheater auto-x mode, you won't ever lose control of it....

I have a 75Carrera and a 99 M3 really nice cars. Friend has the Zo6. Out of control fast and easy to love. I can't have any more toys now but would go for the Z06 if I could.
