The windshield on my wifes car is scratched pretty badly from the wiper blade coming slightly unattached and the metal of the wiper blade sliding across the windshield for an unknown amount of time. I just ordered a Flex from AutoGeek, but I won't have have it for a while since they are on back order. :(
What can I do to effectively remove these scratches from her glass?

The Flex appears to be a great machine but isn't going to help with the glass polishing, it's just the wrong tool for this job.
The wisest solution would be just to replace the windshield using your car insurance, but if you are adventurous, there are glass polishing kits available.
Eastman and JCWhitney offer kits for around 40 bucks. These kits contain cerium oxide, a fine glass polish used to polish telescope lenses and a thick felt mandrel used with an corded electric drill. (When you see the felt mandrel, you'll see why the Flex isn't an option for this job.)
Diamondite also sells a couple of kits for 50 - 60 bucks. (Autogeek has them)
I actually did the exact same repair on my wife's old Camaro, repairing wiper scratches. I used the JCWhitney kit and it worked perfectly, slowly but perfectly. (There was enough cerium oxide to last a lifetime)
Others warned about altered optics from distorted glass but we never noticed any changes and the scratches were deep enough to feel with your fingernail.
You could always try the kit repair and if it didn't work, go the insurance route.

The FLEX XC 3401 VRG is an awesome polisher. The only reason why the DIAMONDITE Glass Repair System Kit will not work with the FLEX is that the FLEX has a built in backing plate to be used with 6.5” foam pads. The DIAMONDITE Glass Repair System Kit will work great with the PC 7424, UDM or any Circular Polisher. The DIAMONDITE Kit is a perfect kit for removing scratches out of glass.
Wow, I'm surprised there's a solution to removing scratches out of glass. Let us know how it all works out!

I have access to a circular polisher, so I'll have to order that kit! Thanks for the info!
