View Full Version : 17x7.5, is a good 235 possible? (1994 325is)

I am looking for a new set of tires for some 17x7.5s for my 94 325is (old 15s are now snow wheels). I was looking at 235/45/17 but they are a bit larger diameter than stock. 235/40/17s apparently do not fit on a 7.5 wheel. Is the extra inch of width worth the increased tire diameter? Am I stuck with 225/45/17s?

I guess the real question is a 225/45/17 good enough? Not racing, just like a good grip. This is for max performance summer tires by the way.

235/40/17s fit on a 7.5" wide wheel. I have them on the front of my M

Wonderful! I am glad to hear it. Any nay sayers?

Oh, and by the way, any preferred brand? Looking for good wet traction (upstate ny).
