aftermarket wheels and tire pressure monitor

can BMW sell the valve stems with the tire pressure sensors and program them to the car so the pressure monitor system still works? Reason I ask is I will have 2 seperate sets of wheels (stock for winter and aftermarket for summer) and it would be convenient to not lose that functionality.

I think your question is can you purchase the TPM sensors seperately and install them into an aftermarket wheel?

If that's your question then yes, that can be done. It's not cheap, but it can be done...we do it all the time here at the dealer I work for.

List price for all four sensors and valve stems is about $235 plus whatever install charges are.

Maybe that doesn't sound too expensive to you...but it kind of does to me

I wouldn't consider it outrageous but it certainly isn't the $11 you spend for standard valve stems either.
