Man this stuff is awesome I had a bunch of trim that was oxidized/ had gotten wax on and it looked horrible. I applied 1 coat of this stuff and the difference is amazing. I would recommend it over the mothers back to black (which I also have and it works, but this is better).

Also I don't have a before picture of the trim, but this picture shows how well they turned out.

Is it available locally in an autozone/checkers/kragen type place? Or only mail order...

I'm pretty sure it is available at a retail store and you don't have to order it. I will check with my dad and post back.

How did you keep it on just the window trim. If im not mistaken, this is the kind of stuff that is almost like a black paint and you apply it as that.

The website and others suggest masking off the bits to keep the dye off the paint and other car parts.

Availability is common in the USA, otc at shops listed in the 'Locator' section of their website:

www.foreverblack.com

and online at Autogeek, our sponsor. 11 bucks.

As for Canadian sources, I haven't found any yet for the Forever Black. CarCareSmart in Burnaby BC has the tire dye but not the trim dye, at least that I could see. (I wonder if it's the same?)

I like this stuff, too. But it's a bitch to take off when it dries on your paint...

I don't know where to buy it locally, my dad bought it at autogeek.
I used masking tape around the really tight areas towards the back of the car as shown in a few pics. As long as you get it off your paint asap it won't stay. Also i removed the trim to dye it.

FOREVER BLACK Bumper & Trim Dye Kit

The permanent solution to sun-faded bumpers and trim moldings.

Forever Black restores a dark, black, finish on sun-faded bumpers and body moldings. This is not a cosmetic dressing. It's an easy-to-use permanent dye. It permanently colors black plastic, rubber and vinyl with the same polymers that the manufacturers use. It is not a silicone dressing - silicone products will make plastic, vinyl and rubber appear to have regained their color but the change is temporary. Plus, silicone oils have been known to dry out the applied areas creating a bigger problem. Silicone also tends to leave a greasy residue even after buffing.

Ianbiz,
I just tried the original link from my post and it linked fine and I verified the spelling. I'm not sure what's up at your end but if it doesn't work after a day or so, maybe give it a try manually at your end.

It doesn't matter, because if I buy anything online, it will be from AutoGeek.

Ian,
solved it:
The .net domain works for me, at least to the home page anyway, and I thought I just copied and pasted the link.
Another web search shows the .com domain and that works too so I'll go back and edit the original. I don't think they sell from their site but the 'Location' link is handy for people looking for a local supplier.
I know you'll be ording online with Autogeek. Are you going to try their tire gel as well?
