if u are bone stock i think the cai with a heat shield is your better mod . now if u make your own cai u will have enough change left over to get the shark . here is a pic of the one i made . like 50$ or so to make it . http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=671224

neither one will do alot for you at the moment. Intake will at least get you a more aggressive engine sound. I'd say get the intake, then work on getting exhaust, after those two, then get the shark. Unless you really want to raise your rev limiter, and remove your govern. Then get the shark first. :)

manufactured intakes for our cars range from like $160 to $400 I think. All will get you a handful of whp/wtq (maybe 5 max) but nothing special. It does make the engine sound good. If you are getting an exhaust also, I'd say go with intake to compliment the sound. Then save for the shark, and it will remap everything and make it even better.

I'd say shark because it sets the rev limiter to 7k in each gear, instead of the annoying 6800rpm in 1st, 2nd and 6500 in 3rd through 5th.
