EDIT: FINAL PICS OF INTERIOR ADDED AT BOTTOM....GOT IT WORKING FINALLY.... WORST PROJECT I'VE DONE, but I went the extra step and did the sunroof interior panel as well, not just the headliner.... I now consider myself an E36 sunroof master, after 2 weeks of jacking with this thing, searching high and low for questions, I NEVER found, but was able to figure out on my own....

Need some help re-assembling my sunroof cassette

I pulled the cassette out of the car to help align everything, and I need some help, to get everything aligned and working properly

Here is my problem:

I can't get the slides on the driver side to align properly with the tab on the bar holding the painted panel, and the slide tab moving the interior headliner panel... I need some help here, before I have to take this to a shop to have them help me put it back together

I had mine out at least a couple of times and it can be a little tricky putting everything back together. I'm not sure I understand what you need but from what i can tell you have a couple broken clips that will need to be replaced (second pic where you're holding the screwdriver)

This helped me out a bit, you kinda just have to see how everything works:

I never did totally figure out how the interior panel works, but mine is no longer connected to everything else :(

Its been a while since Ive tinkered with a cartridge. But from what I see in the pics there is a slider that I see tucked all the way in the back on the right side this I belives clips into the white slider that attaches to the "card"

after going to the dealership and some auto upholstery shops, and bimmer indy shops, and no one really wanted to take the job on, and the dealership wanted 1350 just to LOOK at the mother fu*cker and start from there, I decided to try again, using all the little tricks i've learned, and pieces of info

I cleaned the tracks this morning, greased them up, and re-inspected all the pieces....

re-inserted entire cassette back into car, and mounted back....

got the interior panel re-mounted and working properly after aligning with zero setting on sunroof motor...

re-installed the painted panel, and PRAYED that it would work without binding... .and BAM.. got the somofabioth....

thanks for the lack of help everyone, couldnt of done it without you... but now if you ever have any problems.. let me know .... LOL :)

I reupholstered everything with suede from a local fabric store, and coated them with 303 aerospace protectant for UV protection. I also did ALL the pillars, even the seatbelt ones that normal are NOT covered. I think they turned out REALLY well. Also took apart the entire sunroof, to redo the sunroof panel as well... Enjoy the pics, and if you have any questions, let me know
