My insurance website recommends I do this pretty soon. Mechanic sez he'll hook it up w/some redline synth. What's the labor time on that? should be about .5 hr or so? I can look up the cost of the fluid np. Are there any industry labor time guides listed for my car online? Mechanic tried to scam me and got caught (told me I needed BMW specific trans fluid when I use Dexton III) owes me close to 100 smackers. I'd like to be able to see how much time a given repair is at the shop. I absolutely do not trust any mechanic. Hope I don't offend anyone but in my experience the vast majority are schuysters who have no qualms about pulling the wool over my eyes if they think they can get away with it. I'm just gonna get my refund...screw his redline I do know a mechanic that I have a very small amount of faith in *insert hamburglar icon here*

thats an easy DIY man, if you want to do it that is. If you have an access to AllData it would be listed in there, i don't kno of any online labor times. Maybe someone else does, but that job if you have a lift is about a 10 min job but most likely they would bill you for a half hour.

I have a curb. From the tech article I read I'd need to get a suction device as the fill hole is at the top of the case. I over filled my motor on my last oil change and spilled a buttload of oil and don't want the apt. mgmt. gettin' red on me. I was running 5w-30 out here in the desert and decided to thicken it up w/some 15w-50...7qt. pan=full + a quart in a bowl I got from work + roughly .75 qt on the pavement. oops. ty I'll check the alldata thing. I just hate gettin' scammed. Apt. livin' is convenient but it's a real drawback for a DIY guy w/an etraysex

If you want to DIY its really easy if you have the right tool. 14mm allen wrench (or two) & open ended wrench 14mm and probably some vice grips and a shallow 14mm socket and a way to cut the allen wrench... its really a pain to fit something in that space so have all the possible tools and a bit of patience.
Nice color btw...

I had to cut down the allen that i got to make it fit inbetween the spare tire well and the diff. When i put the lsd in i filled the diff on the outside of the car, then i found out the allen was to big later on.
