my dad has some hre's on his 550i and they just recently moved to huntington beach. i would assume its from the ocean air (since he isn't always able to park in the garage) but the chrome lip on his rims seems to be getting very spotted and hazy and it will not come off at all. the lips now look very dull and old and the rims are practically brand new. we tried using some polish on them but it did nothing. anyone have any hints or ideas of first, how to get the haze/spots off, and second, how to keep them clean and shiny with the ocean air. any help is appreciated..thanks

Call up HRE or whoever sold them to you, that should not happen, there is definatly a problem with them, salt should not eat into new wheels this quick. Also when it comes to chrome buy Griots Garage Chrome polish, absolutly the best as far as I am concerned, we use it on the Borani Wire wheels on my fathers old Ferrari's and they shine like a mirror, hell my 2002ti likes it too for the accent pieces.

is there clearcoat on lip? maybe the salt in the air is eating away the clearcoat instead of dulling the metal....
