Hey, Ive been looking to go with a 3-Series look for the front of my car, I feel E36 --> E36 M3 bumpers are played out (although I still think they look the best) So I wanted to see what people would think look best on my car....

Zender, Racing Dynamics, and Hartge all look great. Good luck finding them though. eBay and For Sale sections on various BMW forums are your best bet.

IMO the Rieger lips both make the bumper too tall. Doesn't match with the side skirts at all.

Zender and Racing Dynamics seems like a much more slim shot, and a hartage one just went on the forums for $185 shipped! I cant believe I missed that.... haha

there is nothing that compares to the M3 bumper, this is coming from a guy that avoid getting one for long. I had the riger lip, then gave up and got the M3 bumper and was very happy with my decision

I love how everyone hates on the M3 bumper on non ///Ms when BMW put them on non-Ms FROM THE FACTORY.

Oh and OP: Get the Hartge, it's worth it if you are set on a non-M front.

Yea dont hate on M3 bumpers and side skirts for being on non-M's, especially when it was an option from the factory for other models. Its like saying they should get any sport upgrade options at all, simply because they werent the most powerful 3 series...

On the other hand, people who de-badge their car and try to pass it off as an M3 when it's not, that is kind of lame.

My car is debaged and has an M3 front bumper but if you know anything about E36's it's easy to tell it's not an M3.

Not only was it an option on cars but it came STOCK from the factory on more than one non-M model.

Here are some pics of non M lips and non M front bumpers.

Pics in order:
Alpina b8 front lip
AC Schnitzer front bumper
Hartge front lip (I wish I had one of these)

The last two are pics of my car which has the Bavauto DTM style front corner splitters. This is also made as a full lip, but i think the splitters look better than the lip.

My brother my brother, you just sold me! Its between hartage/Your corner splitters, if you could link me the spillers that would be great, thanks!

I wouldnt, dont support those who support ricers. Im assuming your talking about the BBS lip though right? I dont think that one looks as good as the others. And yeah Ive seen the Reiger pics on Mod Bargins but wanna see it on real cars (you know what I mean) from different angles.

bbs lip, i think this looks great and you could prolly get/ make some front splitters that would fit on this (kinda like e46 CSL front bumper)

That is a BBS lip. I emailed the shop, and apparently this lip isn't in production any more. I had my heart set on this for a while, only to be let down.

Personally, I don't like how it overlaps the bumper around the sides, but that's just me. Rieger is the way to go for me and you can always upgrade it with a splitter later on.

Almost same here. I don't know about the bavauto splitters though, not my cup of tea. This lip is something to think about though:

I like that, but not its price tag haha if the normal (not cup ) rieger looks just as good probably I might have to go with that one, unless I find a well priced hartage.....

Hartage - If well priced
Bav Auto splitter (If I can do something about the price)
Rieger - Ill most likely get this one.

no problem. every bmw tuner offered non-m styling...ACS, hamann, racing dynamics, alpina, zender, breyton, list goes on. sucks that a lot of these parts are just so damn rare.

as for me , i cracked my infinity lip. so i finally gave in and got a m bumper:D.

I think you misunderstood what I am trying to say here...

A lot of people feel that putting an M3 bumper on a non M car is making that car into something that it isn't. Some would go as far to call it a "poser M3". However, at the same time, you are considering putting on an Alpina or Hartge lip to your non Alpina or Hartge car. So, aren't you making your car into something it is not? A "poser Alpina/Hartge"?

Again, I have nothing wrong with any of the options, and I don't think they are "poser" cars, I am just trying to clear up the illogical/hypocritical situation of M3 bumpers and Alpina/Hartge lips on Non M/Non Alpina/Non Hartge cars.

And I know the difference between a Hartge lip and an M3 Bumper. I was not saying they are the same product.

Did the mesh bumper insert come with the lip or did it come separate. Me likes very much!!No , the mesh section of the bumper and the brake ducts I fabricated myself. I do high end fabrication for Reid Motorsports and this is going to be one of our lines for non M bumpers.

I am very interested in this if and when it ever goes into production. I was just talking to my brother like 2 days ago about fabing something up like this over the summer, but if I could buy this then it will save me a lot of work.
