have the opportunity to upgrade my wornout brakes and noticed a complete E46 comp kit off or a 05. I have never heard about this being done before but would really like to do it. Does anyone know what modification would need to be done to either kit or the car. I believe the mounting brackets would need to be modified but in what way? Any information about this would be greatly appreciated. or any thread you might know of that have info would be great to.

thanks

I would think the mounting bracket and then you'd also have to make sure your wheels clear.

Did anyone try this yet? I have a similar opportunity to get these front brakes.

youll need at least the carrier and 18" wheels.

I still dont know if it will work but for e46 m3's comp brake upgrades require new carriers.

You need an adapter for the calipers. I have the UUC wilwood kit on my fronts and they use E46 M rotors. High clearance 17" wheels will work. My 17x8.5 SSR Comps clear w/ a 5 mm spacer.

If you're looking to do a swap, have at it, but if you are strictly looking for performance, I'm not sure it's worth it.

E46 M3 brakes are not a direct bolt-on for E36.

In fact, given how a floating caliper's carrier works, the dimensions are such that an adapter bracket could not be made easily or even at all.

I think I would be able to get the caliper brackets too. Someone I know is getting a big brake kit and said I could have his e46 m3 comp. package brakes. I dont really need them but if they are free and a little better, why not. I guess I will just have to take them apart and try it out.

I would listen to Rob on this one... He has undoubtedly been there, done that.
