Ok, so I have read some previous threads about pre 94 e36s with something people thought was traction control and the conclusion came to either lsd or open diff. So I understand that part, but what I dont understand is when I drove the car in the snow last year and I tried to slide sideways the car cut the throttle and the abs engaged(especially on the front wheels) and the car started to straighten out by itself. So does that mean I do have traction control?

probably, just look at the maf, cars with traction controll have this little gismo box thing inbetween where the maf connects to the throttle body ( i belive)

the "winter package" came with LSD, and a traction control light in the dash? Did your light come one? take it out to gravel or something and drop the clutch see if you can spin the tires, look for the light on the dash.

It wasnt an option on 92's. You either corrected it yourself without noticing (if your used to the car people tend to do that) or it was added after the car was bought from the dealer, witch is highly unlikely

Yeah, the TC light goes on in the dash when it is sliding. And when I had to do the emissions dyno type test, the ABS and TC lights both came on, and once I drove on the road for a little bit they went off. Then I tried it on purpose in a parking lot, let it slide a bit and let go of the wheel and not touch the pedals either and the same thing. ABS kicks in and brakes on each of the wheels to stop the slide and pull the car straight.

Do you have the little tc button in front of the shifter?

Just check for a secondary throttle body on your intake.
