Ive got the 3.23 M3 Lsd in my 325 5 speed. Its Quick - I think. I lose traction in first allday long and upon changing to 2nd lose traction again up till about 55mph. Then at 60 change to 3rd everythings fine again.

Are their any benifits of going any larger with the rear differential over what I have already got? E.g. 3.91.

I read somewhere that the 3.91 can transform my car speed wise, the thing is I drive on dual carriage ways alot at speeds between 50-90 and
dont want the car to be at 4xxx Rpm at that speed mainly because of the fuel economy.

So I thought that changing the standard 5 speed to a 6 speed to lower the Rpms in the last gear. I dont know what gearbox is currently sitting in my car, Getrag or ZF ? Or what i should be looking to get 6 speed wise... E36 M3, E46 M3? Do they bolt directly up to the M50TUB25 engine. I have an uprated clutch but by the sounds of things, I'll have to replace that aswell as the flywheel assembly.

I have searched but I had no definate answers in what I found. :(

You have bad tires.

its costly, but can be done, a steeper rear end isn't going to do much for traction, tires are going to help you out, the 6-speed will help with cruising by keeping the rpm's low

this is the guy you are looking for though
