One of the mechanical cables that goes into that silver box with the intake hose?

Does your car still work? does your cruise control still work?

Or is it an electrical wire?

my ASC+T light is on, meaning that its off but i dont know if that has anything to do with it. havent checked the cruise control.

If I am not mistaken with the ASC+T there are two throttle bodies one for the pedal and cruise and another for the ASC+T. If that's the case then you need a new cable if you want your traction control to work. I wouldn't try to fix it. Also check to make sure if it requires any sort of adjustment!

that cable actuates the throttle body for the traction control, you won't have any traction control while its broken but you can keep driving

You will have half of the system: the auto braking of the rear wheels, but this only works up to about 25MPH. The engine torque limiter (the secundary butterfly) will be inoperative though.

Didn't you see the other snapped cable end?

Here I made a drawing of where the cable runs to (not the path).

And here's one of my engine bay where you can see the cable attached to the butterfly actuator.

Of course it does. I mean you can also still drive the car can't you?

If you'd follow the cable from the Cruise Control motor you'll see it leads to the main throttle body, the one against the intake manifold.

I wondered about the auto braking, so it only works up to 25mph... Is there any way to disable this auto braking?

My ASC throttle body is unplugged (by me) to disable traction (bulb removed from dash), does this disable the auto braking? (can't say i've noticed any auto braking)

When you start the car, the ASC system tests the ASC throttle body by opening and closing it briefly by actuating the cable. If it cannot open/close the TB, then the light will activate on the dash disabling the system.

As far as I know once the system is disabled, no aspect of it will work (meaning I can initiate a skid without the rear brakes intervening)....
