Just wondering...I am redoing my headliner since mine was sagging and actualy falling on my head. I am using actual headliner material from a specialty fabric store with the foam already on it, in a dark charcoal color(my orig. was grey). I thought about the microsuede route like I have seen posted here, but that reminds me to much of crushed-velvet, the stuff I used to do back in the day and I'm prety sick of now...

Anyways back to the original question: I tore the old fabric off the 2 front pillars, as well as the 2 in rear w/ lights in them. I think recovering them in fabric again will make them too thick, and possibly even corny...so I was thinking of just buying some nice spray paint, probably a black color as well, and just paint the suckers...seems like it would be alot easier, and would look better..even might spray the plasic pieces that hold the seatbelt, cuz lord knows they look like crap as well..Anyone ever tried this, and if so how did it go, any pics?
I didn't want to use spray paint at first, but there's a whole bunch of improved paints that bond to plastic better, cool textures, etc...maybe even throw on a clear coat for kicks.
I will post some pics when done..maybe even will try and paint speaker grilles, lights, and handles..not sure if it would work on the sunvisors though...

i do car upholstery as well as dye interiors, i just re-did the headliner in my hard top in suede and had to do the sail panels separate like you....my advice would be to just wrap them..if the material works for the headliner it will work for those. Just spray the glue on the material and the panel, let it tack up then wrap it. if you must paint it..SEM paint company sells a line of plastic paint called color coat, they have most colors.

Good luck

hi TM. Im sort of in the same dilema here. My headliner's off and in the process of wrapping it but I still havent decided if I also want to wrap the the pillars with the same material or just leave it as it is. My dash & seats are black while the original headliner is colored light grey. The material im going to use has a bluish grey hue to it and i dont know if it would match the visors & handles though. Id like to see how yours' done. Kindly post pictures if you can. thanks
