I would like to lower my 325 after i paint it and put the m3 bumper kit on it. What do I need to do it. I've searched a bunch of posts, but people make it too complicated. Basically I just want the car to sit a little lower on the wheels. Kind of like the sport suspension looks on the e46. What would i need to purchase to do this, and what are the quality brands, without spending too much money? (I'll be broke when I'm done painting :)

oh yes and I would like for it to have a fairly soft ride, without compromising any handling.

like one of the other guys said," put on ur fire boots cause ur about to get flamed on" for not using the search function
the search should have told you that you should buy lowering springs (lowers the car) and some shocks(eg sachs, bilstein) for comfort. check out the supporting vendors.

You need a set of lowering springs, and you will probably want new shocks as well. Lowering springs tend to tear up shocks made for factory ride height so you should get some decent ones. Alot of people like the H&R Sport springs, but there are lots of brands and styles for different amounts of lowering and different ride qualities. You can also get coilovers, which have adjustable height but they are usually much stiffer and are for track use.
