K this one is kinda quick, but what are the widest tires i can fit all on all 4 wheels with whatever wheel accomodates them. This is putting the concept of the wheels having to look good aside, so i guess what would be a good track wheel/tire combo?

Thanks

Oh sorry, i didnt mean that. To be more precise, I would like to know your guys' recomendations for wheels meant for track use. So what brand, what size and what size tires would be good for a track application?

Thanks

I don't have any experience with track setups, but the April 2002 edition of Roundel says that Kosei 15x8 wheels and Yokohama AO220A tires are good for the E30 M3 because both are relatively inexpensive and very light.

Toyo RA-1 track tires last a very long time and still have plenty of grip to go around. 225/50/15 on a 15x8" Kosei is a pretty hot ticket.

You may be able to stuff 16x8 wheels and 245/45/16 tires under the rear, but the front will be a different story. Hoosiers run $800 per set (245s) and Michelin Pilot Cup tires will cost you over $900. The Michelins supposedly have very good life.

But if you're just tracking the car for schools, don't worry about the stickiest, biggest tires you can find. Kosei 15x8 wheels are plenty cheap, strong, and lightweight, and Toyo RA-1 225/50/15s are plenty sticky with great life.

I agree with the Kosei K1's as they are very light and inexpensive. It depends what you want, do you want to go full R-compounds? You can get Falken Azeins Sports which are a street/R-compound which is very good, and pretty cheap too. Unfortunately you will have to get a smaller size tire because they don't come in a good tire selection, but the smaller tires for the 15's helps with gearing.

Ok cool, thanks.

I guess my only concern about using 15's would be the fact that later on i couldnt use a big brake kit up front. I actually havent found any kits for the e30 besides the one on Turnermotorsport, which i guess hints at the fact that the stock brakes are pretty adequate?? Or are there other options out there?
