yeah make sure u get it from a well known place and not some cheapo place, i got mine from the tint professor and comes with lifetime warranty, so if it bubbles up i can get it redone for free.

I figured about 200 but what would it cost to get what you already have removed, to go darker?

When I got my car I had to have the rear/back windows redone (too dark) and it was 100.00 for the removal and only another 65.00 to retint to match the front side windows (40%).

Warsaw and W. Lafayette when I'm at school.
The PO of my car told me he had his Audi done somewhere for cheap, like $100 and it bubbled up. So when he had his 328 (now mine) done he went to a professional place and it was closer to $200. So to the OP, yeah that should be alright.
i paid $300 for my 328i. lifetime warranty.

$100 for removal lol, thats crazy.
On my previous car it had bubbled up tint on 2 windows so i removed the tint myself at home for free haha. It just peels off and then u just clean it with window cleaner for any of the left over adhesive.
As long as the shop that did it is still in business when I need to cash in on that warranty.....lol

There is this one place I checked out a while ago, really legit/high quality shop, and it was 200 for the like "basic" package and for 250 they file the top off so it matches with the top of the window, and there isnt a little gap in the tint at the top, and they also use higher quality tint (better sun-blocking characteristics i guess).
Both packages have a lifetime warranty btw. Just wondering if getting the better package would be worth it? I think it looks a lot cleaner, but is this what other tint shops do regularly? or not
hello hi hey

ROARF, how dark did you go on your tint? (35%?) it looks really clean.

You guys pay a lot... but I guess different parts of the country are different, in So Cali it goes for around 100-120.
Oh yeah, lifetime warranty, 10$ removal.

I payed $190 for everything including lifetime warranty. Make sure you go to reputable shop and definitely get the warranty. I have already been back and had rears re-tinted under warranty, it is well worth the extra money.

Well around here its expensive I think, I called up some places and they want about $300 but I was able to get a discount at a place since I work for a body shop so $220 is my price.. So yeah $200 sounds good to me.

Sorry to jack the thread a bit!

Mine was $275, but they hard to remove nasty old bubbly tint too. I didn't get a strip along the top of the windshield, either, but that was personal preference on my part. My old car had it, and I didn't really notice it helping, and found sunglasses to be more effective.

Priced from 169-300, just make sure and ask them about the antenna. I had mine done and the reception on AM was bad because some tint is metal based. They have other product they can use that does not cause this problem.

Here in Sacramento it is around $100.00-$150.00 to get your windows tinted. Even found 1 place that will do it for $89.00 + tax.

Anyone know where to go close to Warsaw, IN for tint work? I bet roarf does? WarCity represent!!!
roarf
12-20-2007, 10:19 AM
Haha, Warcity fo sho. I think there was a place called Professional Car Audio something or other that does car audio and tint. There is a place behind Smith Tire I think? Maybe Ziebart but I don't know how good they would do. I'm thinking the PO of my car said that's where he got the $100 job and it sucked, but I could be wrong. What place told you they would do it for $200, or was that just your own estimate? And of course I'm sure there's plenty of places in Ft. Wayne if you want to go outside of Warsaw.
BTW, if you see a black 328is sitting outside of Global today that's my car (replacing radiator :(:)).

The place I am talking about is on the corner of Leiter Dr and W Lake St. I can't remember what they said their price would be. But Ziebart said it would be $200, and they would only do the legal limit of 35%.
Maybe Sharon at Global Auto could suggest a place?
roarf
12-21-2007, 09:31 PM
I think I know what place you are talking about. Yeah Sharon might know somewhere good. If Ziebart wants 200 they probably will do a good job....see if those places have warranties. It would probably be a good move to get it from somewhere that has a warranty or guarantee of some sort. BTW, I saw your car at Steak n Shake today. I had lunch at Wings, etc. though. :chicken:buttrock
