Who has purchased te carsoft 6.5 from an Ebay seller?

I am having trouble getting the damn thing to work. I keep getting an error cord saying something about a bad connection or bad cable. I returned the hardware and the seller supposively sent me a replacement unit. Still the same problem

Has anyone else had any trouble getting the carsoft to work on their car? who did you buy from? my seller is not very helpful. the dude is in Canada or else i would meet him and slap him across the face

I also bought Carsoft 6.5 from a vendor in China. He was very obliging but no consolation for $125 worth of software and an interface that didn't work. I could not get Carsoft 6.5 to work at all and tried every variation of settings and program loads known to man. The program ran OK, but it crashed every time I attempted a diagnostic. I did manage to get the interface to reset the service interval on my E36, but ONLY if I used it with a version of Carsoft 6.1 that I bought seperately and that was the ONLY thing it would do. For the money, I would rather have the Peake tools (which I have since bought and work flawlessly).

I downloaded carsoft from the net and bought a cable off ebay, but it didnt work, comes up with cable error too.

Ive heard that most of the cables sold on ebay are not carsoft 6.5 versions , but 6.2 or less.

i spent big money trying to get it to work another 200euro no joy
carsoft have spent a lot of money in the making of ther programs

i bought the cable from ebay. it came in a black box with a ferrari on it.

i downloaded the carsoft software off the net and the diagnostic and erase stuff works fine. it does not reset oil or inspection lights on the e36 tho. i use the paperclip trick for that.

i also tested it on my brothers e46 and it worked also, it does reset oil and inspection. i forget which version i have but its the one without MINI support.

I've warned so many about the ebay carsoft. This why I always said go with snapon MT 2500 for the same money and it works. Carsoft is better yes,but unless you buy a real version and the right cables your getting scammed.

Also have this kit, still can't get it to work. I was using a serial to usb converter. Advised that I needed laptop with serial port and older windows platform '95 or 2000!!!

I have version 6.1 with cracks and it works.

2elite4 is the seller i got mine from and NO IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL!!!!.i tried all the variations of NEW cables, ports, USED cables, different ports, different software, software ahhhhh F^%k IT!.blah blah blah..and even had a computer genius try to get it to work on several different variations..its all cracked illegal everything..if its not from carsoft then its not real!!! NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY!!! carsoft has also threatened legal action so beware fake sellers...When i contacted the seller he will take it back no questions asked ..hmmmmm ..several buyers and i mean like 10 said they also returned it..so thousands of dollars lost in labor and wasted time and materials i could have just bought gt1! go figure

Yup the software and cables were originally designed to work from an IBM laptop serial port running Win95 (or 98?). Using a USB to serial adapter will not work. Of course you have to have good software.
