Hi, i just found some condensation! the car has never ever overheated before.
i did a coolant flush however. i am using Prestone antifreeze. i'm not sure if it contains phosphorous or not but is this why? I drive conservatively rarely do i redline my car ( i dont think it contributes to a head gasket failure though )

Engine has 154 000 km which translates to 96,250 miles. I do regular oil changes at 5000 mile intervals. ive been with this car since the day i bought it.

Tell me what you think.

Thank you.

The milky stuff under the oil fill cap and under the valve cover is normal for cooler weather. That's the coolest area of the engine, so that's where combustion blowby accumulates. In moderate temps 50-70F it takes about 30 minutes of sustained driving at highway speed to get all of the engine hot enough to boil out the condensates. Most folks don't see that condition on a daily basis, so condensation forms under the valve covers.

The coolant at the lower front of the block is probably from the waterpump, thermostat housing, or one of the hose connections. A your mileage I'd suspect the waterpump.

At what milage did you buy the car? How many owners did it have before you? Did the previous owners keep detailed records? If you are going to replace your waterpump, then obviously make it a metal prop waterpump.

I just replaced my tstat, tstat housing, water pump, radiator, and hoses, and this same thing just started happening to me 3k miles later...thoughts.. I have coolant all over the top of my hood too, fan clutch, and vanos, but my car doesn't overheat and coolant levels are fine.
