They listing said they came out of a 1999 with 30,000 miles.
Seems pretty low miles if true.
I bought them for $48 total as long term repair parts supply.
Anybody here had bad injectors?
What do you think smart buy or I will never need them?
FYI I also have a set of spark plugs and boots off ebay, I will bet I use
those someday for sure!

Why did you need new stock injectors?

if you never use them, then they are $48 worth of items collecting dust in your garage.
If you do use them, then they are a good valued item that made the repair easy, since you already have them.
$48 isn't much, so if you don't use them, it isn't anything major.

I know cheap insurance, I am just wondering how often people get failing injectors and at what mileage? One new injector costs more than I paid for all
six. I have a shelf in the garage with a MAF, coils, a new clutch, and now injectors it's my future use parts shelf.

I bought a set of used injectors off eBay. I only paid $30 :rolleyes
I then sent them to RC Engineering and had them reconditioned for $125, IIRC.
Put them in my car, and they made a big difference. Much smoother idle, smoother acceleration. They were matched to less than 5%. All but one were within 1%.
I recon'd my old set thru RC Engineering, and still have them.

Nickdrivesm3 what is your response to FierySphere's post here?
I guess injectors do commonly leak via the injector o-ring seals right?
I have read in the 101projects book that when replacing the o-rings there is a real risk of damaging the plastic tips of the injectors. According the 101projects book injector tips are how sold separately so you must replace the injector if you damage just the tips in replacing the seals. Anyway this way I have a lot of injectors to insure I can have six working ones. Good or bad logic here?

I'll add that the original injectors that I took out at 220K miles still worked. They all still had pintle caps. But the O-rings were pretty hard, the new pintle caps certainly looked to have more defined edges, and the flow rates were much closer matched. On average the old injectors were flowing 15.8 lb/hr, while the new ones (either set) are around 17.75 lb/hr.

I did something similar, bought a set of used "pink-top" injectors on this board for $40, then sent them off to Cruzin Performance to be cleaned/flow-checked and then sold my original ones for $60 :redspot

Honestly, Ive never seen an injector fail or leak. Maybe it because I've never encountered it but at the sametime no one really posts about it either. Nor have I talked to or seen a co-worker encounter one. I just yanked out my stock injectors and the platics tips did break but I dont care because I installed different ones for the S/C. I have 198k and never had an injector leak or problem.
BTW, You DO NOT have to replace the entire injector if a seal fails. You can buy them seperatly.
