Is BavAuto the only place to get an E36 M badge? At least, the cheapest place? It's $35. :(
I got an E46 one for $20 from a very cool member here, but I have to send it back.

Mine is faded to almost white.

That's the E36 badge.

That's why I'm asking here.

Sure they would, but they're arched.

The E36 badges are flat while the E36 badges have a contour to them not many people like.

That's what I meant.
Lol, I apologize!
It's the shape of them that is the problem.
But I see it's only a problem on the 99s that they fade.
People like you, Jamie, get off easy. :P

$31 from Tischer so far.
Pretty good, but if there's anything lower, I'm there.

Easy fix. Go to CVS or Staples, and buy a pack of those label gun rolls of labels. You can find Red, Dark BLue, and Light blue in the EXACT width of the stripes on the //M trunk badge. Use an exacto knife to cut them in the proper length and // angles. Clean the badge with rubbing alcohol so the surface is clean, then apply the labels. YOur badge will have a brand new look for approx $3.75 and 20 minutes of labor.

Thanks. Key is to make 100% certain the surface is fully clean on the badge, and also make sure the stripes are cut exactly to proper length, so there is NO overhang of the label at all. Otherwise, it will begin to peel up. So in short, take your time, do it right, and it lasts for..at least a year so far, on mine.

Hmm.. I'm going to have to try that. Worst case is I lose $5 bucks.

Try autohausaz add the dub-dub-dub and the dot com. THis place is off the hook. For any oem parts - the roundel with the gromet is like 17 bucks. OEM!! - its the same as from the dealer - ordered mine and it looks exactly like the one off the car. fits perfectly!!!

One other thing: If your //M stripes on your seat(s) have begun to wear or fade a bit like mine did, any arts and crafts store sells small tubes of paint that are used for flexible surfaces aka vinyl, fabric, leather. etc. They also sell extremely thin crafts paint brushes for about .25 cents each. Clean the stripes well with dishwashing liquid/water, rinse, dry, wipe with rubbing alcohol, let dry. Then carefully re-do your stripes. Let dry for an hour, then apply conditioner. best results occur when the seats are warm/in the sun, or if you use a hairdryer. If anyone needs the brand of paint I used, let me know and I will find out.

Btw, if you don't want to order online, get the part number and email your local delaership to see if they can match it.

Just pay the money for a genuine new badge at least you know you will be happy with it, forget the ebay crap and overlays, its an ///M3 you are working on not a school art and craft project.

but it isn't the proper one for the E36 !!!

neither are our exhausts, intakes, rims, tint, SSKs, HIDs, DDEs, etc.

Think of it as an aftermarket upgrade. ;)

keep the E46 stuff on the E46. I think E46 M3 stuff looks like ass on these cars. I especially despise the E46 front bumper on an E36. And we all cant forget the lame ass magnetic side vents.
