the fact that my reservoir cap does not tighten completely. when I try to tighten it, it just spins off. I bought a new reservoir and it tightened the first time and when I took it off to bleed the system, it refuses to tighten completely and coolant just flows out when its hot.
Can anyone help me or give me some suggestions?

my guess at this point is your cap is jacked up....there is not way it should break free. Make sure you are screwing it on correctly....you don't need to put the force of God into tightening it....

Did a new cap come with the reservoir?

I bought a new cap before and it didnt close with my old reservoir, then I bought a new reservoir and it worked the first time and never worked again after that.

I am not over tightening it, it just gets a little tight then spins freely again. I attempted last night to drive the car with the cap and tight as it can go without coming loose and coolant started to spray everywhere.

Something is wrong then...

Over tightening it.

So, you replaced the cap, used it on the old reservoir, probably screwed up the threads on the new cap, bought a new reservoir, used the old cap on it, and possibly screwed up the threads on the new reservoir?

Try replacing them both at the same time, and then be careful not to overtighten.

no.

Like I said....there is absolutely NO WAY to overtighten it to where it would break free and just spin! Either the cap is broke, or you broke off something from the new overflow tank....
