I have a 1995 318i with a K&N Cold Air Intake and a Stromung exhaust system. I was curious about what other ways I can go about getting more horsepower, without adding a super/turbo charger. I have been on many different sites and they do not say much about older BMW's, and how I could gain more horsepower.

without some type of forced induction you cant really get much power from that motor

The m42/44 is just a monstrously impotent motor. Your best two options are a motor swap (either an m50b25 or an s50 US) or a supercharger.

I would say that if you don't want much more than 200bhp, get a Downing Atlanta Supercharger (DASC). It's a roots type compressor, which means it gives linearly increasing boost through the rev range.

You say you don't want FI, but it really is the most cost affective power adder for your motor. There are just no other options if you want to keep your motor.

if people would stop replying to these threads, maybe people would stop posting them and search the ten million other ones instead. BTW welcome to the forum
