The ECIS Intake has now been added to the product family. Now, there have been some discussions about which intake does what and why, that's not what I'm going to do. The dyno numbers already on www.ecisbmw.com are a testament to the quality of the product, the validity of the claims, and the veracity of the statements.

What is Umnitza doing to add to that?
a) We now have an install video for you - ---> CLICK 4 VIDEO (http://www.umnitza.com/ECIS/ecis.wmv)
b) We have a sound clip for you - ---> CLICK 4 WAV File (http://www.umnitza.com/ECIS/ECISS3.wav)
c) We have a special offer for you - buy ANY intake and get a free StonGard headlight cover FREE. That's right. A $40 value, free - only for a limited number of participants. Only to the first 20 participants.
d) Same great service.

FREE STONGARD Headlight piece with purchase and FREE shipping.

First 20 people.

Right, the Intake is $239 shipped w/ StonGard.

does $239 include a heatshield?

umnitza

If my answer is correct, it does not include the heatshield.

I ONLY retail things that I would or already do have on my car.

When I ordered mine, it was without the shield. Would it look better? Most definitely, but inthe first adjustment period, I prefer it without the shield.

Besides, what a pain it would be for me to have to remove the shield to stick the camera inside to get that great sound clip? :D

how much for the heatshield and cover

BimmerBruin
04-08-2003, 01:35 AM
the heatshield is what is going to help you with your added hp. i dont think most people spend over 200 just for the sound of some extra air being sucked in. you are better off buying an intake from the ecis site with the heatshield for 240. you really dont want to be sucking in hot air. people who need stone guards im sure either have them or will buy them. sounds like they have extra lying around to try and make this deal (actually this non - deal) somewhat enticing by giving them away for "free". the only thing u are gaining is the shipping. but the heatshield is worth much more than both shipping and the stoneguards especially if u already have stoneguards for yur euros. my opinion which im sure most people will agree with. BTW. UMNITZA NORMALLY HAS GOOD DEALS ... JUST FOR THOSE WHO MAY TAKE MY WORDS AND SHY AWAY FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH THEMIN THE FUTURE.

it sounds like it includes the heatshield, but not the heatshield cover....

BimmerBruin

in that case this deal would be an absolute steal. but i dont think that is the case. he said no heat shiled which kills the whole point of getting an intake.

Um, so, my terminology is a bit off...forgive me...

I thought he meant intake cover.

Um, excuse me while I "vent" a little at the thread (normally cool but come on, this is a little ridiculous no? )

I'm NOT ABOUT DEALS!!!! Heck, I'd rather you see Umnitza the company for what it is, a service company FIRST. We may not get the right terminology right away and we don't CON our customers into it.

The Stongard is a GOOD deal. Considering it IS $40 retail shipped. We don't have "excess" stock, but thanks for being our shipping clerk we need one - you for hire? It's a tough commute, but seing as how you've got time to post this while checking my inventory already, you can handle the 4 hours back and forth:tongue:

Ok, back to reality. And Sanity :D:D And less Sarcasm.

The intake cover, SHOWN CLEARLY ON THE VIDEO, is included in the ECIS Intake. The INTAKE SHIELD, the pretty aluminum cover is NOT, those are $85 extra. The DEAL is only for the $239 ECIS Intake. It's FREE STONGARD with it.

Now, ALL OF THIS INFO IS ON MY SITE AS WELL:
here's the link:

Yeah guys, give umnitza a break. He made a simply mistake on the terminology.

His reputation as a reputable and service oriented vendor on this forum is well documented. Your getting the ECIS CAI that others sell at that price, plus getting the Stoneguard. A pretty good deal, especially considering that ECIS is known to not do regular group buys.

Actually, this is done with ECIS's approval:)

Thanks!

maybe they need to replace you with somebody who knows what they are talking about then. and you can take my job as a clerk. have a sense of humor. =)...there is a huge dfference between a heat shield and an intake cover. i posted that so nobody would get ripped off. you should clarify because its still unclear. 239 for the intake, heatshield, and 1st 20 ordrers get a free set of stone guards and shipping is included. GREAT PRICE. not to mention that i did say this deal is a steal if all that was included in a previous post. and also i specifically CAPPED that umnitza is a highly reputable company. you had no reason to "vent" other than the fact that you needed to clarify the terms of the deal.

BTW... no need to back up your ingnorance with sarcastic remarks.

no, I didn't mean to upset you.

My day was just bad. 3 straight days of 3 hours of sleep will do that to you:tongue:

Friends? :D

I think umnitza is wrong about posting the info too. Heatshield is the black one that protects against the heat from the engine; while the intake cover ($75.00) is the one on the top of the intake and heatshield (powdercoated with and custom black or silver finish).
I was interested in this GB, but decided not to because of the info about the heatshield was not included.

umnitza, you can fix the info as it will clear all confusions. Thanks.

man !! dont get it the wrong way !! lol i did say lets have a sense of humor about this. really. i meant nothing against u. something just seemed odd and i wanted to make sure things were clarified. again. this is a huge deal for those of you looking to get a quality intake. i myself and numerous others can tell you how great it is. and the sound clip realllly sounds just like what it does in person.

One more thing, can I get the deal without the Stongard? If so, how much is it?

BimmerBruin
04-08-2003, 10:13 PM
its a huge deal once u clarify whats in it. im assuming the intake, heatshield, stoneguards and instructions all for 239 shipped. haha yes friends. =)

umnitza
04-08-2003, 11:49 PM
ok, to clarify:

Intake - as in filter
Intake - as in coupler
Intake - as in heatshield
Intake - as in bolts that are longer to help you attach to the inside wall.
StonGard - for any car's HEADLIGHTS ONLY
Instructions - well the video pretty much does what you need it to do.

There is no deal without StonGard, it's a combo. If you don't want StonGard, we give you an Intake for $239 shipped:)

WHy not take the StonGard:tongue:

Is this deal also good in combo with the $590 for intake and shark together that ECIS is having till the end of the month?
Is this pushing my luck? I would jump on this deal in a second if it was ok. I kinda like the intake cover, but not enough to spend $75.00. What would the cover help anyhow? IS there more hspwr than what woudl be acheived without the cover? Or is it just for the bling bling appeal.

BimmerBruin
04-11-2003, 02:23 PM
haha the intake cover really just has to do with asthetic appeal. BUT.. the heatshield has ALOT to do with your HP increase. without it you may actually lose some power.

I'm sorry, that's a separate deal.

As BimmerBruin suggested, it's a different item. the heatshield is important while the intake cover is aesthetic.

That is a good deal Matt - any thoughts on selling me Brians' (97 MPWR) lights??

BimmerBruin

slickyv... this is not only an excellent deal for a top of the line intake but you are purchasing from a reputable vendor. yes. there is a BIG difference between stock and having an ecis intake. it not dramatic like a turbo charger... but its a big enough gain as to where u can actually feel a little more pull. GREAT INTAKE overall. hope that helps.
