is it possible to have EWS aligned to 2 different ecus?
let me explain the circumstances...
i currently have an ecu in my car that is supposed to have DINAN software on it, but i still have a stock redline, i feel that it is faster but i think it may be placebo.
what i want to do is put my old ecu in and see if there is a difference. so is it possible to put my old ecu in without having to realign ews? becuase the place where i got it aligned charged 40$, and if i get it aligned to my old only to discover that it is indeed slower, than i am out 80$ and still have to buy the new one. so is it possible to swap on the fly an ecu that was once aligned to my car? i hope my point is clear, thanks

can someone have any input whatsoever?

If the ecu is from a different car then I think it would have to get re-synchonized for ews. Don't know for sure, I'm kinda doing the same thing. I don't know if EWS will affect the car starting up.

I believe that you would have to have the DME and EWS aligned. Since the whole point of EWS is to prevent the car from running if the system & key chip don't match up I don't think the car will even start w/o the EWS alignment.

If the rev limit isn't higher I don't think you have the Dinan S/W. But a readout of the DME with a full-up diag system should reveal what S/W is present.

Called the stealership and they said $130 to re-align...so I said fu, I'm gonna call a real shop.

EWS can only be aligned to one ECU at a time. The alignment is not stored in the ECU, so no you cannot swap them back and forth.
