Does anyone know of a gas station in the Kansas City area that sells 93 octane gas? Thanks.

Go ahead, rub it in.

Well, I don't know if KC has 93. They don't have it where I live.

Lately I have heard a lot info on gasoline octance, cnn/petroleum institute. They says all grades or essentially the same! :dunno so don't buy exspensive one :az: . I'm still a skeptic of that, but here in Wichita, there is like only one gas station with 93 octance.

Here's a link to the most recent story about this - http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/classifieds/automotive/5597171.htm

There's an interesting comment in there from BMW basically saying they still recommend premium gas - no big surprise.

To me, it would appear that the moral of the story is use whatever level of octane which does not cause your car to knock....

:dunno

CITGO on Johnson Drive (about 3 blocks east of Metcalf) sells 100 octane at the pump. Another place on SW Boulevard sells higher octanes but I don't know the name.

Thanks! I'll try that.

BTW, octane doesn't matter until you get on it. Then BMWs high-compression engines need high octane. The DME will retard the timing to keep it from pinging with less-than-93 octane gas, but then performance suffers.
