Well I've had my turbo for a week and a half now, so far its running great. I found that it's a little rich, around 10.7 at high rpm so I think I'm going to tune it in with an AFC Neo.
I wanted to go to the drags Saturday but it got rained out, I will be going next Saturday for sure.
Here's a quick pull to 75 or 80, 1st gear is pretty tricky I have to launch at about 2/3-3/4 throttle and then when the boost comes on I have to back the pedal off to about 40-50% and hold it there otherwise it spins badly. In 2nd gear I can floor it. I think I'm going to change to a speed based boost control.

cool! Its so quiet I can't really tell how fast it is. In-car pulls are a must.
Can you give us a basic run-down of your setup?
I saw 10 psi on the video, but other than that, no detail.

Thanks, check the link in my sig for the build.

Impressive custom kit, although u do need to get that thing tuned right.
You seem to be a pretty good DIY'r, after looking at your system and turbo install.
I have a few of questions
How long did it take you to install that custom kit?
What was the final price for everything, if you dont mind answering?
Any dyno numbers yet?
How does the system sound with a 6 inch mid and the new tweeters?

Hi thanks, well I did a few things ahead of time I put the clutch in a couple weeks before starting and also had some of the aluminum pieces welded. Also I had fitted the intercooler a couple months before. I planned everything as best as I could and I had the car down for about a week for the install and I think it was a couple more days until I finished the exhaust.
If I count everything it's a little over $6k
I had it dynoed mainly to see where the A/F was but also to see what hp level it's at, well I didn't get very high numbers but it's a Mustang Dyno that reads pretty low (he said around 210 for an e46 M3) anyway I dynoed only 287 and around 300 torque. I'm going to see what kind of trap speed I get on Saturday and that will tell the story a lot better.
I've had the stereo for a couple years now, it's great but my only complaint is those 6" morels don't have very much bass. They are nice and clear but just have no kick.

Nice job, I'm sure your power will improve dramatically with a better tune. Successful builds are what I like to see, considering I'm about to start mine. :)
Why did you go with the .140 gasket for only 10psi?

Yea, those numbers do seem kind of low. How many pounds are you running right now?

Right now 10-12. Any more than 12psi and I'm getting detonation, we tried 14 on the dyno and power dropped quite a bit and he said he could hear it detonating.

What kind of tune was it? And what was it meant for?

It was for a car with a gt35r and cams. It's pretty close I just need to fine tune the A/F ratio. I'm running 91 octane too, I'm not sure what octane the chip is tuned for.

I enjoyed reading the build. However, I dont think the reason the HFM was not working was because the air was not strait. it has to pAss through the correct way or it will read way way off. strait incoming air does help, but will not cause that much of a descrepancy. also, with your tune, whos chip is it? or what was the shop that made/tuned it?

also, Im curious about that oil pump nut fix. I thought most people either used VAC oil pump fix kit or just tack weld 2 spots to hold the nut on. do you for see the wire coming loose in the future?

It's an AA/ICS chip. The maf made a huge difference when I turned it around, it went from not even being able to idle or run to a perfect idle.
The wire is the type used in aircraft applications, it's really strong and shouldn't ever come loose. I got the nut and wire from Bimmerworld.

So to clarify:
WITH a .140" MLS gasket lowering CR to around 9:1, you are detonating above 12 psi?
Must be that 91 octane? That just doesn't make sense.. considering TTS2 kits run the same gasket, and 13 psi on pump. Might want to have your tune checked out, timing too.

It really doesn't make any sense--
If detonating with a correct mixture, this would mean the spark map is on the aggressive side... yet the numbers weren't high (no offense). Hmm might want to look into that tune. I mean it in the best way, not trying to criticize by any means.
