Turning off DTC and hitting it in a turn in 1st isn't a good thing. Fortunately, damage to the car is light.

Anyone know if the panels under the car that run end-to-end covering the engine, etc. from the road are called a splash guard? If not, what are they? I'm trying to source new ones...

Also, anyone know if 2008 sport package rims can be repaired at all - mine each got a 1" rash on the rim lip, just about where it meets the tire. The rash is relatively minor, and the rim isn't bent (no vibration or noises), so I'm hoping it can be smoothed and re-clear coated for a lot less than the cost of new rims...

Thanks!

A body shop quoted me $150 per wheel to refinish them. If you google "repairing scratched alloy wheels", the first hit at autopia-carcare shows you how to do it yourself.

Pushing any cars limits without knowing them is asking for trouble. I read once about this guy with a CRX on a track saying in front of more powerful car owners how can you get in trouble with a ~130hp car and he ended up going home in a tow truck. It is all about learning your cars limits gradually before you full out.

Sorry don't mean to be patronizing nor add to your pain, so best of luck and hope it will be as good as new soon.

That looks great - the lead picture is just about what mine look like, but mine is only impacted in a 1" area instead of what appears to be a 3-4" scrape in that picture. Guess I'll be able to do a home repair! TY!

Anyone know what the under-car shield thingy is called and where I can get it?

Thanks!
