I'm building a motor and trying to get the most power out of a stock obd2 ecu with Nick's tuning.
Just curious Dave why didn't you go Turbo when you started this last project?
I didn't think of going turbo because I was expecting to get a lot more power out of the car. I was hoping to get 550+ rwhp with at least 400 rwtq. Obviously, that goal fell short.
Dave,

Thanks for the offer! I really appreciate it.
My life changed the day George gave me a ride in Ledlum's car on I-95. :D I have never felt a car that fast. I LOVE the lines of the e36 and have always wanted a turbo car. I would've gone turbo from the get-go, but at the time I was into the going to tracks like Pocono, Watkins Glen, and Lime Rock. However, with the business and other obligations...I just can't find the time to go away for a couple of days at a time. Not to mention the cost of everything. It really adds up when you have to pay $400 in entrance fees, plus hotel room fees, gas, etc. I am going to build a street car now with a comfortable interior and nice system and a huge turbo under the hood! :D
I can't wait! :buttrock

Gotcha! Full weight with comfy interior, sound system and a GT4088R? Man after my own heart! :alright People laugh when they see I still have all that weight in my trunk but an all-around turbo car is the most enjoyable and when we aren't WOT which is a lot of the time, we want to relax and bump that sh%t in style mang! :smoke3

Dave and I have a friendly rivalry going and we enjoy the banter between ourselves.
The list of boys in the 550+whp supercharger club is pretty low. So if there was another one running around I would have assumed I would have heard about it through the grape vine.
Now if you happen to have something brewing .. We will have to meet up and play too, since I need a new CF SC car to go after :evil2

Not always about the peak RWHP number.....weight , handling, power, driving, all go together..correct?
550 RWHP @ 8000 RPM...is fine..but what will the power be in the 3500-6500 RPM range? just curious...

Oh Carmen, I am in no way dissing your car..I was seriouly curious...Although I know you have not dynoed yet.......
I want your car to be done..I was excited for you when I saw you at Kelly's Roast Beef that night..
I am just saying peak RWHP means little IMHO...
I have gone "lighter and tighter" and added power...:)
I am real happy with what I have....:)
I hope yours is done soon....:)
you have the patience of a saint...

I am not taking offense my brother .. please do not take it as such
I agree that peak WHP is just a small part of the larger picture, as to my curve I hope to be around 500whp at approx 5k and in the realm of 650whp @ 8k.
I have always loved your machine. VERY VERY Clean. Drives awesome. I would def love to check it out in person again.
As to my girls final schedule, we are hoping for February. I see no reason why it shouldn't be finished.

I am sure someone will ask, sooner or later..
Will NickG be perceptive to helping whoever buys your kit, to help tweak the tune, if need be?
Since we know that tune was probaly pretty specialized for you particular car, compression ratio, etc....
What about EWS...? will that tune start.. in someone else's car?
That may be a nice selling point for the $$ you are asking for that kit...:)

Dave, you shooting for any specific power level? Can't wait man, congrats.
~650rwhp on pump gas. I would also like take advantage of some meth use. We will have to see how that will all work out...
Congrats brother .. I am sure you will be putting down some great numbers and we will have allot of fun coming up this spring.:firedevil

Thanks man. I am still looking forward to having lots of fun in the spring. I'll just turn down the boost some if need be, so I don't embarrass you too badly. :stickoutt
:D
Will NickG be perceptive to helping whoever buys your kit, to help tweak the tune, if need be?
Yes.
Since we know that tune was probaly pretty specialized for you particular car, compression ratio, etc....
That was clearly mentioned in the list of additional parts that would need to be purchased to make the kit work. I would ensure that the person buying the kit has everything that he needs.
What about EWS...? will that tune start.. in someone else's car?
Yes, Nick still retained EWS. Whomever picks up the kit, will have to have his/her car aligned. It's a very simple procedure that is worth the time since it's an added security feature for the car. Knowing that I didn't have it with my old tune didn't really make me feel all that comfortable. Just a mental thing I guess...:dunno
That may be a nice selling point for the $$ you are asking for that kit...:)
+1. I feel that the price is fair for what you are getting.
