I'm taking a poll to see what is the most popular color among you 3 series owners..I'm on the verge of jumping into the realm of being a BMW 3 series owner and am trying to narrow my choices down..color wise. So far I'm kind of stuck on the sparkling graphite..but would also entertain sapphire black and alpine white...

Just want to see what others might have and think...

Thanks!

What's a 300 series? I'm assuming you mean 3 series?

My first choice was sparkling graphite or space gray. I was also considering black sapphire.

I never really considered Blue Monaco, but after seeing it a few times, it started growing on me. My wife absolutely loves Blue Monaco. After finding that out, it was a no brainer.

So, I just put in an order for a 335i Coupe Blue Monaco 6mt last week!

I was determined to get SG and that's what I got. It was my first choice for a sedan, and I still love it 8 months later. If I had gotten a coupe though, it would've been Montego Blue.

It's really personal preference though. Go with your gut.

IMHO the best color by far is Titanium Silver. It goes awesome with BMW's aluminium wheels, stays looking clean, and the metalic shines very nicely. In addition, it's most popular so easiest to sell. I also like the black interior.

My second choice by far is Space Gray. It looks really nice but when I saw Tit Silver and Space Gray next to each other on two 335 coupes, the Tit Silver was much nicer.

I bought a Sparkling Graphite in 2006 and would never buy it again. It only looked good when clean. It looked almost purple at times depending on the light. Needless to say I had no regrets getting rid off it.

Black is classic and very nice, but it's the hardest to keep looking new unless you're a fanatic car washer.

In conclusion, yeah silver is everywhere but there is a good reason for it, it looks best.

The best thing to do is go to the dealership and see for yourself as it depends on what you like and not what we like.

Yes, I love Montego Blue. Barroque Red (or whatever the dark red color is) is also a really nice looking metallic color. I don't much care for black, white or grey. I don't like tan interiors either. Black or brown (or a dark red) on black interior is very nice.

I had it narrowed down to three when I was ordering mine. Montego blue, Titanium silver and Alpine white. The wife hated montego blue, so that ruled that one out. I was having a hard time deciding between titanium silver and alpine white. I finally decided to go with alpine white since the silver is an upcharge for metallic paint. Figured if I liked both equally, might as well get the cheaper of the two.

Sort of...I like SG for the Sedan (which I purchased) but I like Montego for the Coupe. Does that count?

I would've also suggested Barrique Red for a sedan (my 2nd choice), but it doesn't exist anymore. It was replaced with Barbera Red which is not as nice IMO.

I noticed the "purple" thing at first too. Now I can't see it if I try tho...I dunno, I get a lot of compliments on color choice from people, plus I like it a lot too.

New to the forum and just want to say thanks for all the info. I haven't ordered my coupe yet but...

I was wondering if anybody had an opinion on the Arctic Metallic. I don't recall anybody mentioning anything about it, and I don't think I have ever seen one. Is it just a slightly darker TS?

BTW, I saw a TS/black with Sport Package at Advantage BMW in Houston today. I was totally blown away. I much prefer that over the Monaco Blue I tested last week.

TS may have overtaken SG in my book, but am still curious about the Arctic. Thanks.

I gotta say Jet Black has proven to be an interesting color so far. After it is washed it is a deep shiny black. When it got dusty it looked like Black Sapphire. Now in the winter salt and grime it looks like Sparkling Graphite (albeit not so sparkling) and I am sure in the upcoming days and months when salt usage increases it will turn into almost Alpine white. Not bad, you get to sample 4 colors in one car :D.

Agree. The titanium silver is awesome looking and easiest to care for. Some people don't get silver because so many are out there.

I loved the e46 M3 colors like the yellow and blue. Too bad BMW doesn't offer that on all of their cars. I wonder why they stopped offering those colors even on the M cars? To be honest I still would probably opt for the silver but just miss seeing the others as they stood out.

Get the black. I have black and it looks like SG with the winter salt and grime. In fact someone at work has an SG 328 and you can't differentiate their car's color from mine from afar, so this way you get 2 colors for one, just wash it and it is black again, wait 2 minutes and it is SG :D.

IMO black's the worst color. It tends to hide shape accents, and this car has an awesome shape. Plus, black looks dirty a nanosecond after you wash it. Interiorwise, the opposite is true. Oh, and.. if you love those scratchy swirl marks, get black.

I agree with you on all points, I do notice the lines better on other colors, and it does get dirty quickly and it does show swirls more esp. in direct sunlight, but TBH, nothing beats black when it comes to shine once you get it washed/waxed and also black is the stealthiest and sexiest color :devillook. But then I am biased and getting older. I love red, but it attracts too much attention, I got over that after 12 years of red.

I was struggling between black and TS for my 328ci.

In the end, I let my current car make the choice for me. It's espresso black and I'm sick of getting it dirty just by looking at it. Black is even blacker than espresso (a very dark brown) so I figurered it would be even more of a nuisance.

TS looks awesome and should be easy to keep looking good.

TS looks awesome and should be easy to keep looking good.

Yup, TS rocks. ..and the window trim is like brushed aluminum, instead of bling-chrome.

blk on blk with that grey wood trim is a bada$$ combo. true blk gets dirty and you can notcie scatches on it better but atleast you know where the scratches are so you can add some wax on it and clean it up. you cant go wrong with blk its straight pimp status and makes panties get wet. oh and to add one more thing, makes you and your car look more classie.

Alpine white with red coral leather and grey poplar trim looks awesome. But I now think I prefer the sedan, and BMW doesn't have the grey poplar trim offered in the sedan, SUCKS.

Isn't pink the proper pimpin color?

Best combo IMO is black w/ custom red flames on side and above rear tailpipes. Sheepskin seat covers are a can't miss. Add gold wheels and you have a winner!

I'm new to this forum.
I'm thinking of getting a 335i next spring, this forum has been great, it's been a wealth of knowledge for me.
The color combo I'm looking at is either SG or Alpine white with the red coral interior.
My question is did anyone who got the red interior have any regrets now and wished they had chosen a different interior color?

SG with a black interior is what I have and it rocks!

I was wavering between AW or SG and finally opted for SG and am glad I did..

It's sexy and looks good in all kinds of light!

Monaco with Saddle.

Wish I had a Vert in it, but it is still nice with the roof open.

Wasnt there a guy who ordered Montego with Coral? He still around?

I had a tough time deciding between AW, black sapphire and jet black. I almost went with white because it's the easiest to keep clean. But when I saw cars in each color next to each other, I liked black the most.

Then I had to decide between black sapphire and jet black. Under certain lighting conditions, they both look the same. In direct sunlight, the sapphire sparkles. In some lighting, the sapphire doesn't look black enough. But overall, I liked sapphire the best. So I ordered my 328 with black sapphire and black leather.

It's interesting how we all like different color combinations. For example, men seem to like different colors than women. And my color tastes have changed over the years.

Heh, yep mine is black sapphire and jet black. You are right, in some light sapphire almost looks dark blue. It has a lot of sparkles / metallic fragments, which is even hard to match should it be scratched.

Difficult to maintain as noted, and scratches show up easily, but if you wash your baby properly it will be brilliant.

You might not care, but BS is the hands down most popular color in Japan. And they buy aLOT of BMWs.

I personally worried it would look like it was dusty all the time. I would get Monaco/Saddle again, but my favorite BMW color is not available in the 3er and that is Mystic Blue. I saw an M5 in that color and it was so fine.

Depends on what is out there, but that was like my future car. I should have snapped a photo while parked alongside.

Cable2, welcome to the forum. I was torn for weeks before finalizing my colors: alpine white, coral red, grey poplar. Then tinted at 35% (front window too--got the MD waver). Looks incredibly good. Had the same question you asked: would I tire of it over time? Picked my car up at the Performance Center in July, 07 (which I highly recommend...the dealer doesn't always tell you about this optional delivery. I had to ask. I guarantee you won't be disappointed). I can tell you that six months after picking up the car, I couldn't be happier. I love driving it (11,500 miles since 7/07) and the colors look so good I continue to smile every time I get in. The Coral Red leather has not faded at all, and continues to look great. Good luck with your decisions. Whatever you do, you won't be disappointed. This is an amazing automobile, and the AW/CR combo brings a lot of admiring attention. The Grey Poplar turned out, as I'd hoped, to look more classy (IMHO) than the aluminum trim. Have fun and enjoy the car.

Last three BMWs were Titanium Silver. I guess I'm hooked although if I had to do it again I'd go for Montego Blue.

I got my 328i sedan in sparkling graphite and I'm loving it. This color doesn't get dirty fast, so if its not going to be garaged I would recommend SG
