Hey guys i got a 2008 335i on order and this is my first really nice car so i wanna wash it myself so i dont have to worry about the place i take it to mess it up. Im just looking for some good advice on what to use and any tips that could help or if theres a good post already a link would be great. Thanks

Check the parked post for the "Detailing 101" thread. Lots of good advice there.

Get a nice car wash detergent. Nothing less than Meguiar's Gold Class. My preference is Duragloss car wash. Get a nice wash mitt. I like the Eurow fleece mitts. They may be available at Wal-Mart or Target. You''ll also need a couple of nice waffle weave microfiber towels to dry the car with.

Wash in straight lines, not circular patterns. Along the direction the air would flow over the car. When you've finsished with washing, remove the nozzle and flood the surface with a stream of water from the hiest point. The water will sheet off, leaving a lot less water to dry off.
