my heater will sometimes not work. it will always blow air but sometimes its hot sometimes its cool. anyone have any idea whats going on here?

A common is the heater control valve. The valve is mounted on the firewall on the left side and can be repaired in about 20 min. The complete valve does not need to be replaced but the internals can be switched out. Even if this is not the problem, it is a good place to start and all of these cars will need this done at some point so it is really not a waste to do unless you know it was done recently.

Check to make sure that the small white nylon vacuum line that comes out of the cabin by the windshield wiper is connected to the intake plenum and that it is connected to the temperature sensor mounted in the drivers side kick panel.
