Hey Guys,

As its started to get colder up here, somedays the engine(m60) has a ticking that soiunds like the valves, sat is was louder than b4..but when the car warms up its fine..no noise at all
Ive searched about valve timing and i can't relate much, i think its coming from the left side of the engine..

what should i do..its only gonna get colder up here..i wanna stop it before it gets really cold

Thank you

Since the M60 has hydraulic lifters, it is very dependent on oil type and viscosity. May be time to change to a different oil weight.

Particularly considering the cold climate, no? The cold temps exaggerate the valvetrain noise. My S38s sound like a diesel in the winter when they first crank, a lot is due to the mechanical lifters.

Drop to an 0W30 synthetic.

I had the same thing.. I dropped to a 1w30 (i think) and it vanished.
