Last week, I was driving my car with a bit of a lead foot when suddenly, the car revved up high and a sprocket looking sign came on my dash computer and i-drive monitor. So... with the momentum of speed I've accumulated I was able to pull into a plaza and shut off the car. I waited for about 5 seconds and started it back up. No problems ever since. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I have a 335i with step. Should I take my car to the dealer or just forget about it? thanks:D

Wow, I've never experienced anything like that before. Unless you're really busy or somethin', I'd take it in to have them take a look. Getting any long cranks? Is the fuel pump going out? :mad

Evil little fuel pump critters are out to get us!

does your owner's manual say regarding the meaning of the warning symbol?

This is amazing I swear i was just getting ready to post the same topic. Well I have a 2007 3351 sedan and it happened to me yesterday. Had it towed to the dealer and the end result is a new tranny. The only difference is with mine when I restarted the car it came back after about 500ft of driving. i would definetly have it looked at if I were you.

Yeah the fuel pump had me, but it has been replaced so shouldn't be a problem. To the poster above me, what was the problem and how long did it take them to replace the transmission?

just happend yeaterday. Part is being shipped from Canada as we speak. They never actually said what the problem was, but in the owners manual it states something about shift lock. But if itīs new itīs covered and theyīll give u a loaner

well, that's your trans light. if the light came on, then it stored a fault code. even if it's fine now, it may not be a bad idea to have it checked.
