Ok, the other day i decided to break out the PC on my BMW 318i since it has been a few months since i buffed out my dads BMW 528i. I wanted to try out some new tips/tricks ive read up from on the forums since then.

Heres the process:
Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner via MF Applicator Pad
Pinnacle XMT Swirl Remover #3 via PC w/ LC Orange Pad @ speed 5
Pinnacle XMT Swirl Remover #1 via PC w/ LC White Pad @ speed 5
Meguiar's Show Car Glaze #7 via Terry Cloth Applicator Pad

Appropriate lighting is always necessary! ;)

Ok, after i applied the glaze i didnt know what wax to use as my LSP. I had both Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax (Liquid) and Meguiar's Gold Class Wax (Liquid). So i decided to tape it off and do a little 50/50 comparison! :redspot

waited for it to haze up... now i must test it out with the SWIPE TEST DUN DUN DUN.... :eyecrazy

Ok it looked like it checked out so i removed the wax with my PC via MF Bonnet @ speed 3 and final wipe with Meguiar's Supreme Shine MF Towels.

Heres how it turned out

Dude, you write up sucks.........

JK, thanx for sharing, but which wax did you go with. I could not tell which was actually better based on the pics.

personally NXT gives you more clarity, and Gold Class gives you a deeper gloss

I didn't see claybar in there. 1st rule of detailing.
I am not sure you are going to like Meguiar's #7 glaze on black. It did nothing for my schwarzII.
Most swirl removers are mostly filler. If you have heavy swirling, you may want to add a light rubbing/polishing compound, at least on the horizontal surfaces.
Good luck, have fun!

Menzerna is one of the best compounds and polishes to completely remove swirls......

not arguing that... but i cant see myself paying $80 for a bottle

plus, i got about 80-90% of the swirls out... so im pretty happy about the results i got from a DA

I agree that the picture of the NXT side seems to be a better reflection.

I've never really thought about it, but that agrees with my limited experience with those products.

SIP and 106FF are the products you need to remove alot of swirls. They are $50 each for a 32 oz bottle. Plus the 10% you get off from autogeek......

No problem. If you ask any1 on this forum. Its the best of the best.......FNIMUS uses it, and he recommends it always.......You will be extremely pleased when you stand back and look at the results

One note, there are smaller and less expensive bottles of Menzerna's Final Finish and Intensive Polish that you can get from Proper Autocare. Their Blackfire line features a version of 106FF with slightly more lubricity for about $25. They also offer a compound in their Blackfire line, but I'm not entirely certain whether or not it's based on Intensive Polish.

Actually, I think there are a couple of versions of Intensive Polish. An older one that dusted a lot and a newer one that dusted less. Can't remember the model numbers off hand. All those Menzerna number make my head hurt.

But suffice it to say, you can finder smaller quantities at lower prices if you look around.

Here's a handy chart for the Menzerna line, straight from our sponsor and I've bookmarked it.

http://www.autogeek.net/menzerna-of-germany.html

Notice SIP has a cut of 3.5 and a gloss of 3.0
the 106FF has a cut of 2.5 and a gloss rating of 5.0
