Maybe.
I imagine there is probably some threads on the board about it if it has been done successfully.
Of course, it always best get an engineered solution like an aftermarket ss kit, for example, one of our UUC Evo 3 short shifters, if you are looking for the best shifter on the market.
This solution is primarily for the E30 customers, in which cases our staff knows what you will or will not need to make it work since we have had 6 E30s between our staff, or the extremely budget minded, however we also offer the full line of UUC Short Shifters which are engineered aftermarket solutions with perfect fitment that would require no bending etc. etc.

No one here in the office has driven an e30 with an E36 M3 shifter to be able to tell. If there is a picture of one available, you can compare it to what the other shifters are, and I'd be able to tell. So far, the only ones I've tried out are the Z3 1.9, 2.8 and Z4 3.0.

I'm very interested. How long is the stock e30 M3 shifter compared to the ones in the picture? Is the Z3 1.9 shifter noticeably shorter than the stock one? Any issues with the different lengths from the ball to the end of the shifter that connects to the selector rod(the right half side of the shifters in the pictures)?
Thanks!

Ive got the '02 Z3 M, is the UUC DSSR the same as the delrin tranny bushing? or atleast the same function? really interested.

Sorry to disappoint if you like Ron Stygar? (I have no idea who that is).
I created that image from scratch with one of our local customer's cars as the base picture, and we've been running that ad for about a year and some change now.
If this Ron Stygar guy is using our images un-authorized please let us know immediately where the infringement is occuring and how to contact him to put an end to it.
We take our creative work and Intellectual Proptery very seriously.
Please email us at sales@koperformance.com with the infringements you have found ASAP.

The E30 M3 shifter (Part#25112225786) is different than the non-M e30s. By how much, I am not sure. I would assume it's a bit shorter. Since the e30 M3 retails at $137.75 and it needs to be ordered, I don't think I'll have one for comparison anytime soon. Sorry.

No, it's not the same part. The DSSR is a replacement for the selector rod. It's not really a bushing. The idea is similar though, it is to make the shifts more precise by removing the play on the shifters.
Thanks,
Erick

25 11 2 228 384 shows no longer available. It is replaced with 25 11 7 527 254.
The new style shift levers have the yellow spacers built in, so easier to install.
BMW suggested retail is $63.95.

As a side note, just to clarify for Ron - the picture of yours is now deleted from the thread as we said it would be, and for your own reference I emailed you the link were one of my salesman found the picture. It was not your site, but some forum guy's photo bucket account.
That person who has that link going makes no mention of you, and that way, you can go have that person remove your picture and thus protect your copyright.
We wish you the best of luck on that, and we were happy to comply as soon as it was verified that you were the owner of the picture and that you didn't want people using it.
Thanks again!

Ron,
I looked into that and I edited the information. The pricing on our invoice with BMW had their local dealer's service counter pricing (also known as the walk-in pricing, a.k.a. dealer's own mark-up) instead of retail pricing.
As for the retail pricing itself, you are correct. The levers go for $63.95.
I apologize for any confusion, and thank you for pointing that out.

Good Upgrade. I furthered my install of a Z4 shifter by melting out the rubber and redoing it with epoxy... ROCK solid now!
I would go with 2.5 :)

I can't believe you would doubt THE Ron Stygar. I thought I was considered relatively old school in 2002, but Ron Stygar goes back way way before even bf.c old school of Mar 2001. He virtually pioneered bmw messageboards and practically invented the OEM budget kit for bmws. I'm sure you've heard of his website, unofficialbmw

I guess its fair to say that KO and everyone viewing this thread now knows who Ron is. For the record, virtually all longtime Z3 and now most Z4 owners know Ron as an upstanding contributor to our community. Kind of like Randy Forbes as it relates to subframe repairs. Good luck with the group sale.

Now we do know who he is, and after having had a few emails back and forth we can say that Ron was professional to work with in confirming his ownership of the picture we had been using from someone else's photo-bucket that made no reference to him as the owner.
Althought he may not like us for not taking him initially at his word that the picture was his, and forcing him to prove it (since we had never heard of him before)... hopefully he won't hold a grudge against us :) as we had it removed and even forwarded him the link of where we had found it at so that he could try and protect his work from the past better by contacting the photo-bucket people / owner of that account.

Hey there,
I just sent you an email. We are VERY sorry that we didn't get that done yet. It is changed now already as soon as you brought it back to our attention.
I know it may seem rediculous to you, since we first discussed that maybe 9 months ago? But our website in terms of pictures and after market stuff has probably seen maybe 4 changes in that time frame, as we've been focusing all out energies in the Genuine and OEM parts arena and I have literally been stretched to the max in every direction.
Since our last email about this, and I unfortunately wear the webmaster hat among many others, I went from being sales group solo to having and training 2 salesmen, getting sent to physical therapy after being in a flip over car wreck (woman ran red light and t-boned me, unfortunatley still an issue), and having two hard drives with all of my emails go down - including your email, and I'm only now able to get back to the website.
I apologize sincerely for the long, long, long delay in getting that done for you.
Change is already made, and again, I am sorry for the annoyance to you.
We did NOT take that picture from your site, but our graphic artist found it elsewhere online, same as the Ron pic.
This is a BIG problem for us too, trust me when I say I can relate. That's why I'm happy to change it for you now that I have the time and you brought this back to my attention since I lost your email after the HD crash and the car accident.
Even now, I get super mad at all the punks on Ebay and MySpace that are using the images we created... there's even a guy in europe using the custom images I PAID our graphics guy to make just for us, not just pictures I took with our camera and staged on KO time, and we have no way to do anything about it according to our lawyer, unless we want to waste a bunch of money.
Anyway, I'm sure all that sounds like hoo-ey to you and a big croc, but I assure you I would have changed it much sooner had things not gone fairly disasterously for most of last year in my world with regards to time and resources.
Sincerely, and with apologies,
-John Paul Komasinski

No problem, thanks for getting that cleared up. Your new pictures look better too, since your old web guy screwed up the aspect ratio on my picture :)
The eBayers can definitely be a pain. One guy that was using a picture of my M3 with my old LED-lit-salvaged-E39-rings install on his eBay listing for angel eyes. After emailing him, we came to an agreement that he'd add "photo courtesy of understeer.com" to the image, so I let him keep using it.
Hope you're feeling better. Back injuries can definitely stick with you for a long long time.

Guys, I finally got my shifter just about a month after my initial order, even though I was told it was in stock. Several emails w/out reply, and when it came, they didn't make the change I wanted (Z4 2.5 to Z3 2.8).
My verdict: I didn't get ripped off, but it sure wasn't a pleasant experience. Probably wouldn't do it again, sorry to say, even though they seemed like cool folks.
