Hi all,
In the market for an e34 and an m5 is always in my scope :D.

Found one that might be very interesting, a 91, but she has 188k miles.

How many problems and I going to see, and is it worth getting a rebuild on her at this mileage?

She will be my DD, so I need everything to be in good mechanical shape.

for just under 10k with everything else in great condition, brilliantrot on black, what do you all think??

Thanks!!!!
Jake

I wouldn't daily drive one unless you have $500 ready to throw at it at any time...if you can do your own work.

Sounds like a bad investment for a daily driver

188k is quite a bit for the S38, so hope that A LOT of money was recently spent to make things right + proper.

If you have $8k+ ready to drop on a rebuild and want a phenomenally fun and exciting car to drive, go for it!

Mine was a daily driver for almost three years. That was after a $15k engine rebuild. I think it's a great ride and it's not that much more to keep running than most older BMWs. That being said there's an old saying "There's nothing more expensive than a cheap M5". I bought one for $10k and spent $25k over the next year getting it the way I wanted it. BTW, mines for sale.

Great engine
Factory tranny at 90k miles
Dinan Stg 2 with Konis
full euro alcantera interior
Beautiful Alpina two piece 18" wheels ($1100/ea new)

all for $18,500
