Hi, did a search on this question, but didn't find a answer. I don't drive car often about twice a week ( if that)and sometime when I back out of my driveway or pull off I hear a rubbing /grinding noise from the rear of the car. It acts like the car will heisitate, but after a few yards the car is fine. Had the rear rotors replaced about 2 months ago, it's a 95 540i with 110xxx miles.Had the tranny filter and oil replaced about the same time. I love this car and it has plenty of power for a car this age, especially with the EAT chip high ,flow cats and 19 inch 275/30/19 rear wheels keeps it on the road! Need your help ASAP!

Check your caliper mounting bolts. On my 535 the top 15mm mounting bolt of the left rear caliper actually managed to wiggle loose and fall out somewhere on the road. When I'd brake it made this terrible rubbing/grinding noise as the caliper was just pivoting freely on the bottom bolt. Easy, 15 minute fix. You don't even have to remove the wheel.

Good luck!
