question about center console??

Hello, i dont know exactly how to describe it but i need to replace the plastic little shield going over my auto shifter so the slot isnt explosed. I know i have to take the whole center console out but i dont know how to do it, anyone out there replace the little plactic or know how to get the center console out? thank you, Jesse

They can be had from Bavauto.com or BMAparts.com

they're tough to swap. The old one basically needs ripped out, you have to cut a tiny slot into the new one then just feed it into each reel on either side of the shifter.

what? It was easy. Remove the shift handle and pull the whole thing up and out. The strip can easily be removed from the backside.

im not quite sure i know what your talking about, i was under the impression you would have to take apart the console.

Well installing wasn't bad, the one I replaced was full of gunk and became a bare to get the old one out and new one sliding smoothly.

nope, just pull up the wood trim from the front the slide it forward to unclip it in the rear. Pull it off and you'll probably figure out the rest.
