Ok so I am going to try to cover everything

TIME : NOVEMBER 17th between 2-8 pm

PLACE: DYNO LABS (Gwinnet county-ish)

WHO : Brett (bbaz) from The Racers Market will be there running the dyno and doing on the spot custom tuning for E34's

HOW MUCH: Custom tunes will be $550 including all dyno time
The more people sign up the less it will cost
Dyno time will also be done seperately, and will have a group rate for all those interested.

REGISTRATION : Due to people on here not keeping obligations that they sign up for:mad,
a deposit will be required for all dyno time and tunes ,about $50 dollars paid in advance and handled by The Racers Market.
DEPOSITS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED FOR NO-SHOWS:nono ,but of course will be a credit towards dyno time or tunes.

FOOD: will most likely be BYOB(bring your own beef) and hopefully some chips and drinks will be provided.
:helpI do need a volunteer to bring a grill though:help

WALK-INS: will be taken on a first come first served basis, but will be at the higher rate

FUN:there will be plenty of fun, bring a frisbee football or a dog or all of the above :), but we will need to keep the drinking to a minimal.
since we will be on DYNO LABS property i want to show respect so we are welcome back

I want to make myself extremely clear this will not happen if we dont get enough people registered this week.
I expect everyone to PM me or post on this thread to confirm and I will handle all the details after that
I really hope we can make this happen, so please contact me with any question or concerns Nathan 770-367-9709

The car is done and running! :) BUT I can't pick it up from the shop until Tuesday because that's when I'll have the cash. :( My car is being held for ransom! I'll have a post with pictures next week.

so are you going to do a before and after dyno with the megasquirt?

Yes, this meet will be the before dyno. I'll wait a few weeks for the after dyno because I want to get that wideband O2 sensor.

i just posed the info for LC-1 wiring in my how to writeup. You don't need to wait for your MS to put it in.

Very cool!

I might be down for this. Might be a good opportunity to bring both E34s.

Thats pretty expensive for a meet. We do 3 dyno pulls down here for about $65 or if they just want one for $25. And its only like $100 an hour for dyno tuning. I think it would be better just to have a dyno meet.

The cost I posted is for a custom burned chip and dyno time , not just the dyno time.
From what I have heard their chips have outperformed the Dinan, MarkD,turner motorsport chips and a few others
So $500 dollars with dyno time actually sounds extrememly cheap to me, considering most are $ 200-400$ and are a generic map chip that wasnt even made for the mods that are on your car.
Anyone that wants is welcome to just come, however there will be no one from dyno labs there to accept payment so if you havent already paid you wont be able to dyno.
This is being sponsored by The Racers Market(as a favor to me), they are a business and Brett isnt taking any money for himself to come out and volunteer his time to do this, TRM makes nothing from the dyno time so I am not gonna have Brett(TRM) come out all day and not have any business for his shop. that wouldnt be fair to them.

Very cool! That makes a lot more sense now. That's a pretty good deal actually, especially the fact that you'd have a custom burnt chip, instead of just any old generic.

The dyno tuning will be done by me at Dynolab. Dynolab's owner and operator will be there running the dyno itself. It is a small parking lot and a small building, so dogs, frisbee, football, badmitton, or whatever else will probably not be possible. Food may be possible, but again, its a small parking lot and a narrow driveway.

Dynolab is in marietta, not gwinnett. (www.dynolab.net). Dyno time is $100/hr, but that is factored into the fee for what is essentially a "group buy" on custom tuning. Custom tuning is usually $650 not including dyno time.

reservations here (http://www.racersmarket.net/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=129&osCsid=3f5f4778cf9706fa16e872755b13f0ef)
use coupon code dyno1 as an easy way of circumventing the "shipping" fees.

I thought something was weird because Dynolabs is 10 minutes from my house and I live in Marietta. That parking lot is small and not really good for a meet unless it is empty. Also, the custom tuning is for M50 powered cars right? How much is it if you just want to make a couple dyno pulls?

custom tuning was going to be for any of the 5 series cars. I need to know who/what though, as some are V8's and I'll need to see the ECU ahead of time to build the editor files.

There may be time for power pulls as well, but that will be after any of the tuning customers are taken care of. We will need a "I want tuning" head count first.

Well, my buddy Scott Epstein will be out there in his Euro Daytona Violet 3.8L E34 M5, and may actually dyno his.

Yes my apologies, Brett wanted to wait to see if anyone actually wanted to sign up for tuning. I had some issues and wasnt able to make it online to post this till now. Like i said in the begining TRM(mike and brett) were very gracious to volunteer their time to do this, but without having at least one additional car to tune other than mine there is no reason for them to come out, and Im not going to waste their time. Besides there were a few people that were interested in doing custom tuning that werent able to make it out. so if you are interested in gettin a custom tune chip done in the next month or so please pm me or post here and ill keep mike and brett informed.

No offense, but I think a dyno tune day should be separate from a meet unless you know there is a large local market for the tunes. I think a nice get together at a mid-priced restaurant with lots of parking space would be better for a social outing. :)

keep it simple.

530i1995
11-13-2007, 10:27 AM
I would like to be able to get together and eat and chill while we drool over dyno results and BTW by BBQ i use term for more of a social time ,I dont mean it has to be 15 people 2 grills and 2 kegs of beer and a pool:stickoutt just a basket of chicken or a few pizzas and some drinks, something to much on while we hang out.:buttrock
But seperate issue all together is that TRM volunteered to do this, but without at least one car other than mine to tune...why would they want to waste their time??? That makes no sence to me, this was planned as a dyno TUNE day not just a dyno day ( WHICH IS WHY I DIDNT POST PRICES FOR DYNO TIME ONLY)
If people are interested in just dyno time then something seperate needs to be arranged on another date and on some one elses time(not TRM)

bmwm3n528
11-13-2007, 11:20 PM
Agreed. I'd definitely enjoy getting together. My buddy Scott was pumped about going also.
