Where does your clutch engage? Mine engages at the mid-top end of the throw. I noticed today that it slipped going into 4th under the gas... Got home, bled the crap out of it, and it's still there. Thinking I either have air in there, or its time for a slave...
Input?

my clutch engages pretty fast, like first 1/4 or less. the PO did replace about a year ago though.

I suspect that the slave is going bad... My disc and pressure plate are new.

hate to say, but remember masters do go bad as well.
IF the slave checks out, check the master...
but if it were bad you'd think it wouldn't hold the clutch depressed/// but wouldn't depress it enough.... Did I UNDERSTAND YOUR POST CORRECTLY?

Its funny you mention this - I JUST did a slave cylinder today on my car. The clutch now pics up about 1/4 or 1/3 up from the floor (pressure bled ATE blue) whereas it formerly picked up at about 2/3 or 3/4 from the bottom. It feels much stiffer/new

Slipped going into 4th under gas? If I'm understanding correctly what you're saying: you were giving it gas as you re-engaged the clutch ... and yes under those circumstances it will slip a little unless you have a uber-racing 6 puck non-sprung disk w/ some pressure plate with so much clamping force that you need both legs to hold the pedal down.
As far as where mine engages ... mid travel or higher. No idea how many miles are on it besides the 2000 I put on it.

Yeah - under full throttle, going into 4th it slips a tad... It roasts the rubber through 1st, spins/squeals 2nd, and locks up dead in 3rd. I'd say that it starts to engage about 1/2 way up to the end of the stroke. I don't have any issues getting the car into a gear - is that what you were asking AE?

No no, I'm having a hard time understanding the "slips going into 4th under full throttle" ... is it slipping under full throttle once you mash the gas under full throttle when the clutch is already engaged or are you talking about mashing the gas before/as you let go of the clutch, thus making it slip until it brings the engine speed back down.

Mine's about halfway and has a decently wide range. Slipping? I can floor it from any in any gear and it'll move (aside from obvious engine lugging, that is) without any symptoms of slipping.

mine engages at just about the same range as you shrike, though I have never re-bled my system or have had the master/slave checked/replaced...
also...what are some symptoms of a slipping clutch?

It happens under hard shifting - full power. Going into 4th, occasionally 3rd, push in the clutch, shift, dump out/gas, and there's a little slip. In daily driving, I can mash it anywhere and it never slips - only on really hard shifts.
I am just wondering what the symptoms are of air or a bad slave/master....

Eh if I am not misunderstanding... seems like driver error to me. :devillook

You floor it, revs shoot up, speed doesn't increase.

Yeah same here ... that's why I was doing so much questioning up above.

air?
soft engagement, excessive pedal travel, inconsistent engagement point.

eh.. i wouldn't start just randomly replacing parts at this point... if master or the slave goes, you'll know, trust me. if you think that its one of those, I would check the level to make sure you aren't losing any fluids.

I am not above admitting driver error, but this is a new issue that just started. It's almost as if it is slow to engage... I'll see if I can get a sound clip up...

Yes, but with a sound clip alone, we have no idea what's actually happening ... get us a video clip of the rev-counter w/ sound.
