I went up to SB for the night on friday to go to Isla Vista. I was about 17 miles from SB and the lower bolt on the rear strut came loose and fell off! That really sucked. I had no cash an I was miles from an exit and was forced to continue driving. I parked my car in a motel 6 lot and got a room.

Went to Isla Vista and had a good time. In the morning I drove around for hours looking for that one f'ing bolt and nobody had it, Not even the Stealer. So I stopped by a shop and removed the whole shock. drove home on only a sping on the driver rear side of the car. It sucked.

Then, to top it off it was raining and I think I sucked up some water. The car started falling on its face and Idling very very rough. I stopped at a gas station and checked my oil. I was pretty low so I put some oil in and the car was good all the way until I got to the valley. Then it did it again. Turned the car off and turned it back on and it was fine. Now it stumbles under acceleration but not at idle. Got a misfire in cyl 3 and an ignition in cyl 3 code. I'm so pissed right now.:mad:mad:mad

should have gone to a hardware store for the bolt, i think its the same size as a wheel lug as well. you could have used one of those too

Damn, sorry you had so much trouble.
That bolt should be easy to find at a decent hardware shop.

Did you pick up gas while on the road?
SB isn't that far and you can do it with a half tank there and back.
I suspect you might have a clogged inj if that is the case.

Could be merely a coincidence and nothing to do with moisture at all.

I got gas before I left. At the same station I always go to. Nobody had that bolt. NO ONE! Which was really wierd to me.
