I'm trying to figure out what part I need to put on my front license plate... Right now, I just have the bumper strip that says, "BMW" where the license plate would go and no frame to attach the plate.

I bought this part used online and the side strips are too long to fit on my coupe. I guess this part was originally for a 4 door? Is this the part I need, except for a 2 door?

Any pics are links would be great!

Thanks.

just drill 2 holes in the strip that says bmw, you dont need the mounting kit.

I'll check that out. I don't really want to drill holes randomly. Will two screws drilled randomly into the bumper be enough to support the license plate? Not really sure what the screws are drilling into?

ewww. that thing is going to be soo ugly. Just leave it off and keep it in your trunk.

You know what else is ugly?

$150+ dollar no front plate tickets that you can't fight. In one county it's up to $300 / ticket.

That's exactly why I'm trying to put my plate on. I just got a ticket for it and cost just a tad under $100. After many years of no front plates, I should've known my luck would run out soon.

take out the molding and measure the holes of the lisence to the molding and drill there. They are enough to support it i've had mine like this for a couple of years. If you want put nuts on the back of the molding and then put it back on with the lisence.

if you have a mesh grill, mount it on the inside of your grill with some zipties, one guy did it on the forum.

i tried to search for it but couldnt find it, but heres another thread on it

And block half the airflow to your radiator? I think not.

dude, it wont make a significant difference for daily driving. there is stil pletny of room on either side that air can get to the raidiator from.

Try cutting the other two moldings next to the central molding, it should fit. I've seen a body shop do it... :devillook

Maybe for you in Illinois.

You still can't debate that it will impart cooling function for the vehicle. Not only that, but it looks like you can't afford a license plate frame.
