Hello, i checked the NGK dealers here and nobody has the NGK plug, however they seem to have various bosch plugs,
& unfortunately in the ETK it doesn't say what the bosch equivalent is.
Any help appreciated!

as i understood, the Y5DDC and PKR7A have the same heat range and are the same for the m3 3.0 and m3 3.2 ? so i can use the Y5DDC with no issues whatsoever?
cuz Maleckis had told me that he used m3 3.2 spark plugs, which are 1 degree colder than his m3 3.0 plugs...
i'm really confused:S

the NGK PKR7A are the ones specified for M3 as std.

maybe PM morerevsm3 as he got some iridium ones from the USA.

not sure if the E46 ones fit (NGK DCPR8EKP)

just read the NGK catalog and the DCPR series plug are avaliable in an IRIMAC 8 and IRIMAC 9 racing plug, but hell i cant cross reference the E36 3.2 plug with the E46 one. maybe look up an ngk catalog on line or something.

Well i'd like to know if the bosch Y5DDC and NGK PKR7A have the same heat range and work just as good in the S50B32.
My confusion starts with the fact that Chris (Maleckis) uses the PKR7A in his S50B30 because it is 1 degree colder than it's original plugs (which are Y5DDC according to the ETK)..
so i don't want to go 1 degree hotter, especially with the FI involved.
Thanks

You must know that NGK marks their spark plugs out differently. When number increases, it means that spark plug is colder.
Also JamesM3M5 used PKR7A in Euro S50 race engine with good results as he wrote.

I got my PKR7A from Sparkplugs.com within a few days of ordering them(im in the states), but the price couldnt be beat. It was 80% cheaper than getting from the dealer!

The Denso equivalent to the PKR7A is the IXU22 (S50B32), while the S54's BCPR8EKP has a Denso Iridium plug equivalent of IXU24. The PKR7A is a "7" heat range, while the BCPR8 is one step colder. This leads me to believe that the IXU22 and IXU24 are equivalent except that the IXU24 is one step colder as well.

Sparkplugs.com lists a racing Denso plug IXU01-24 for the S54. This would probably be the best plug to combat misfiring under extreme load (ultra-high octane fuel, high compression or high boost, etc). We use NGK racing plugs in both the Watts' S54 and our own S50 Euro engine. They're worth the $30 price tag, since one set has lasted through rigorous dyno tuning at full load and many track sessions thereafter without a single hiccup or stumble.
